Ok guys, I have been a nurse since 2007 and since then I have gained about 50lbs.
Yes, I know I am not lying. It is very true. I used to fit in to xs scrubs. I work nights because it is convenient for my family and babysitting and my husbands schedule.
Tomorrow I start the dvd beachbody programs and hope for the best. It makes me sad that even at work people around me comment on how much weight I have gained. I can't fit into my clothes.
working nights I always find excuses to eat sweets or other bad things for weight.
Well then.I don't like bacon or sausage. I don't like breakfast food in general.
But breakfast for dinner is fun!
We used to do it when I was little (way back in the early 60s)-cereal, eggs, pancakes, bacon, milk and juice. We even got into our jammies for the occasion.
It didn't dawn on me until many years later that most of those breakfast for dinner meals were one to two days before payday. Gotta love my parents' ingenuity in the face of too much month left at the end of the budget lol.
Actually, the topic is weight loss. I really do not know what your problem is and at this point, I don't much care.
Oh boy. You must have skipped a lot of the thread. Clearly you care enough to respond.
You jumped on the topic of b12, which arose from a vegan topic. Therefore, you were on the discussion we were having about veganism. No problem, just trying to clarify things.
Crunchberries, I'm not saying "low-fat" or "no-fat." I'm just saying (obviously not very well) that people make the potato into a dietary landmine by piling on butter, cheese, bacon and/or deep frying it. Of course we need fat, just not so much of it.
Moderation in all things.
I will never give up the noble spud. I toss my spuds in a little oil and fresh herbs, rosemary most often, and bake them. Yummy. You can make a slew of them ahead of time and quickly reheat them during the week. I use them to thicken soups and stews, toss them into salads.
I'm with you on the downside of processed foods, though.

SeattleJess, you are killing me here.
(I have temporarily forsaken the noble spud.)
If you are female and approaching or past menopause and the pounds are creeping up on you - metabolism is the likely cause. Still that doesn't mean you have to give up. Like I said I push my medication cart around like it's an Olympic event, drink probably a gallon of fresh brewed green tea (no sugar) daily. I eat gluten free pasta made from white bean flour ( very expensive but I learned how to make it myself). I refuse to give up any food permanently but don't drink alcohol. 80% of the vegetables I eat come from my garden. Still the weight was just hanging on so I went to doc and got a full physical and work-up - Thyroid is low , as is Vitamin D blood sugar a tad elevated - Doc says jus keep doing what you are doing!
