Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing (OHSU) Fall 2020

Published

Hi future nurses!! I just applied for OHSU's nursing program for fall 2020 as a transfer student. Has anyone else applied yet?

So, If anyone wasn’t aware I heard the ABSN program at Portland started an extra cohort this year. So, maybe they will do the same for the BSN! If that is the case more people could possibly get in.

For anyone who is waiting too hear back from OHSU Klamath Falls Campus I was told that they are hoping to send out notifications by the end of the week! Hopefully they do get sent out and maybe that will help relieve a few minds!

Yeah, if my notes from the info session I attended are correct they're adding a Winter cohort instead of just the Summer and Fall they offered previously. The anticipated seat spread is 24/Summer, 32/Fall, 16/Winter. I wrote down the numbers but not which cohort was new.

They were pretty clear that the 3 year BSN would still only have the usual 40 Fall seats though.

If anyone's attending their virtual info session tomorrow (https://www.ohsu.edu/school-of-nursing/information-sessions), would be cool to hear more.

Thanks for the info. I wonder how many people the invite for interviews?

If I remember correctly, they were kinda vague about that, I wanna say in the 90-120 range though. I think they said it depended on the quality of the applicant pool, which is around 400+ annually.

2 yrs ago when I first applied, that was about the range of phase 2 students as well. I think they only accepted 32 students that year (maybe 40)?

Either way, it is disheartening that even in the most optimal scenario (40 spots, 90-120 interviewees), only the top 33%-44% will make it in the program.

I'm getting daily mini-anxiety attacks of getting yet another rejection letter in the inbox, this is torture!

They have 48 people they ask to interview and then 24 of them are accepted into the program.

Thank You! 50% chance of getting in. I keep checking my email every 5 seconds...

I have been doing the exact same. This process is very nerve racking!

aw, I'm sorry Kitten. I'm 99% sure I won't get in either now that I've realized they only take 40 people. That's more competitive than the ABSN program (didn't see that one coming).
