Opinions of Kaplan Review book only vs NCSBN Online

I used Saunders to supplement my nursing classes, and I purchased Kaplan's Strategy and Review book and did all of the post tests and did very well, but I am concerned that Kaplan's questions in the review book are far too easy and giving me a false sense of security? Anyone else feel this way? I also purchased NCSBN online X 3 weeks, and find the data and exams far more challenging. I have heard that NCSBN is more like the true exam. Any recent NCLEXERS use either of these products and have opinions on how well they felt prepared? I am scheduled for NCLEX next week, but may bump it a week or 2 later.

Sorry, I don't have experience with NCSBN. I am scheduled for NCLEX in 3 weeks and am taking the Kaplan class this coming week. Looking forward to reading more replies to your message...

I didn't use NCSBN but a few of my classmates did and they passed the NCLEX on the first try. I will be using NCSBN for my second attempt on the NCLEX. Let me know how it works out for you.

I'm also interesting in hearing more opinions of the NCBSN online. I've never heard of it until today!

My wife used ncsbn. She passed 1st try. Way back 2008. She's BSN batch 1996

I am using Kaplan and will be using NCSBN online as well. I have heard good reviews and also know of my peers who use it and pass. Heard the questions are very very close to the actual exam. Best Wishes!

I tried NCSBN and find that it is similiar to NCLEX-RN questions. Tomorrow will be my second attempt and hopefully will succeed this time. My first study guide was Saunder and didnt work too well for me.

Good luck on your test tomorrow. I finish NCSBN on wednesday, but I still have 3 weeks until my exam. Once you finished with all the Qbanks what did you do? Did you go back and retake the exams, and what were your scores like?

Thank you very much! I did tried and finished the Qbanks. I read all the rationales of my mistakes and end up knocking my own head to the wall. :( I didn't retake it as I remembered the answers. I must say that the questions from NCSBN and Qbanks are very similiar to NCLEX-RN.

My scores range from 70-80% (Qbank 2- 7) before that I have done NCBSN(tough) my score is like 50-80%.

It is really inconsistency with my results. This moment I get it, next I dont. :(

I started with NCSBN ranging in the 50s and as I went along I got like 70, 77, 61, 55, 60, 83 my scores were all over the place but I never got below at 55. On the pretest I got a 55% and I retook the pretest last week and got an 80%. I just don't know what to think. I am struggling with the fact of retaking the test for practice or just moving on to something else.

I used ncsbn for about 2 weeks. I got the good pop up after the exam today. Those questions resemble nclex the most. Kaplan is a good strategy book too, but I never did the online review.
