Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

I'm taking this course right now! Just to let you know, most schools need the final grade by end of April. I'm not sure where you applied but uOttawa specifically needs it by April 15 if you're applying to their second entry nursing for May 2021. Just a heads up!

For those who applied to Queen's, has anyone had an item on their to do list move past the "initiated" status? I've sent in both of my transcripts but all items still say initiated for me and I'm worried with the deadline fast-approaching.
Thank you!
After OUAC updated my transcript request to "Received", It took about a week for Queen's to update my to do list so that "university transcript" was no longer on it. I'm sure you'll be fine! They probably just have a ton of transcripts to look through.

Thanks for the reassurance! I just checked and it's removed from my list now yay! I'm still worried about my high school one because it was never acknowledged and it' been over 6 weeks since I sent it in ?

Hey! How is it? My plan is to do 2 chapters a week to catch up and finish by May which is fine for UofT, Nip, and Mc. These are all for September intake. Hoping to finish it for end of April, which might be pushing it. When did you start yours? How is it so far? I'm just about to start the readings (5 days before course start!). Just worried as I have a full time job. Hoping to be able to manage. Tips are much appreciated!

Starting the readings beforehand is a great idea. I wish I had done that actually!
I started Jan 1 and have organized my time to do 2-3 chapters a week. I work part-time so this is definitely doable for me. It's honestly not so bad! I go through the readings with the study guide open on my computer (let me know if you need help finding this it's an absolute life saver) and fill it out the "Keywords and Topics" as I read through. I do not read anything that isn't on the study guide. When I'm done that, I do that chapter's quiz on the Wiley-Orion website. I'm going to make cue cards that answer each of the "Objectives" listed on the study guide.
I hope this is helpful ? I've read countless things online that say using the study guides is the best way to go!

I'm doing this course too and I really don't like it so far because it is just reading. I find it too mind numbing and dry. I easily loose focus and my mind starts to wonder. I've done 7 chapters so far and also aim to finish for uOttawa which is super ambitious... And also have well.. many other commitments.
Just a heads up - don't forget to book your midterms and final! they have to be scheduled 20 days in advance, so if you need to finish by may you should probably have at least the first midterm scheduled.

I was under the impressions acceptances went out in Feb so how could they possibly have a wait list already made...? Any changes on your application since you posted this? Thanks:)
Mine hasn't changed from "waiting list" yet! I have been monitoring it every day.

Oh yes it's VERY dry, but I like that AU clearly lays out what you need to know. Otherwise I would have no idea which parts to focus on.
Yes I have my first midterm booked!
Please let me know if your status does change - I too am monitoring it every day haha
Hello, future nurses ?
I am from New Brunswick and wishing to go to an Ontario school in the fall!
I've only applied to McMaster and Western, and I'm hoping I get accepted to one of them!
I just want to get to know everyone on this forum and ask something:
Which school do you want to attend and why?
I am very curious as all nursing schools are the same in Canada; however, what made you interested in these schools.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful! I actually haven't started reading yet but really hoping to start tomorrow. I was able to buy a book - same 14th ED but it says EMEA edition; not quite sure yet if there's any difference.
Do you find the tutor/acad experts helpful? I am hoping to chat with them as early as Feb 1 to talk about my goals/schedule.

Yeah - I've read about AU and how it's really about reading. I didn't have any other choice as I need A&P; it doesn't make sense to take UofT Physio and another university for anatomy. And the scheduling was a bit tricky as well. I just wished I've decided earlier and started AU in January - oh well!
I've read about booking exams too! I hope to chat with the AEs asap to see if my study plan is manageable, that way I can book the exams months advanced.
Thanks for sharing and wish you good luck!

Thanks for replying!! Right, my OUAC transcript has been received by UofT so I'm concerned with why it hasn't been acknowledged by Queen's. I had my high school transcript emailed in and double-checked last Tuesday and still no reply :(( hoping a change soon!
