Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

World Canada CA Programs

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

hi guys, before sending in my applications through OUAC, I was looking at the amount that I owed. I noticed that YorkU has a $90 supplementary fee. What is that for? They don’t require the CASPer test anymore and there is no supplementary requirement. So I’m not sure what we’re paying an extra $90 for

Yeah $90 is very high but I think the fees are for them having to sort out and analyze all the applications. Or maybe it's to deter people from applying if they don't really want to go to nursing school that badly thereby reducing the amount of applicants. The cost is definitely still ridiculous regardless ?

Is a 3.75 enough to get into Mac, Western and Queens given my casper test is good? Also does anyone have any tips on how to study for the new casper? I heard its changed and is different from before.

hey! I kinda broke it down into 3 parts:

1st: talk about why I wanted to get into nursing (with a personal story)

2nd: talked about my ECs and how they related to nursing

3rd: talked about why (as a whole) I would be a good fit and what I could bring to the program

Hey @CourseMan998 can you email me at [email protected] I would love to ask you some questions about the personal statement. I am in the middle of writing it and would really appreciate your expertise if that is okay with you. Thank you!

Hi! Queens, Western and McMaster don't say that the interview component is required in the atlas suite. Im a little confused as to what im supposed to prepare for. Is it just the 90 minute casper test or is it the whole atlus suite (casper and interview)

Hey, I emailed Western and McMaster about this before and they said that the snapshot interview is not required, only the 90-min casper test

OK thank you so much!

Hi everyone! Does the extracurriculars section matter for the OUAC 105 application? Do they evaluate that for McMaster, Queens and/or Western?

Hi everyone,

My name is Justin. I am from america. I have applied to UofT, Mcmaster, Westerns, and Queens Uni.

I wish Mcmaster and Western were a little bit more easy going when sending your transcript. I love how University of Toronto and Queens Uni.

Hi everyone ?

I received a conditional offer from McMaster yesterday. I am wondering if there is anyone in this forum who is in the program and willing to answer some questions I have about the program!

My email is: [email protected]

Thank you!

Hey all! Was put on the waitlist for Western. Has anyone gotten off the waitlist and what are your chances? I'm just trying to see what direction I should be going in since I was rejected from all other schools.
