Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021
Although the 1:1 ratio does sound very nice you have to defiantly be okay with the self taught style of teaching. It's a very unique program and you do get lots of placement opportunities but the aspect of content being taught and preparing for the NCLEX through taking various courses isn’t there. Either way the education of any of the schools will prep you fine for the NCLEX as most schools have relatively high pass rates it’s more so how do you learn yourself and are you okay not learning through lectures. That will truly help you determine between Nipissing vs any other school honestly

Hey if you go on their website they show pre req requirements as well as a list of possible courses to fulfill the requirements so you can check if yours are okay. I had one half physio and one half anatomy and I was accepted. Hope this helps :)

It shouldn't have any influence on Mac and their review process. I know when I accepted UofT, I still got my other 2 acceptances a few weeks after they got informed, and I know they were informed because Nipissing changed my status to accepted elsewhere but I still got in when they sent theirs out

Hey, I'm not 100% sure but I think the way it works is that you can hear back if your waitlisted or declined up until the end of June. I don't think everyone finds out right away (I don't even know if anyone finds out at the beginning honestly), and that you can get waitlisted up until like June 30th. In terms of offers though, they come out every Friday typically so I guess we will see next week if they send more out on the Friday or is tomorrow is the last day.

Hey if anyone is looking to book CPR courses, I know some of the websites are very confusing with their booking systems. For people in the GTA this is a simple site to book on if anyone is interested. They have opened a bunch more courses for July and the one thats required I believe is the standard first aid and BLS (correct me if I'm wrong please). https://www.torontocpr.com

They have two options, pay via credit card or pay via online banking, and as long as you chose the option where you input your credit card details, you should be fine and it should show a $500 credit! It was the option on the right if that helps

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021
Its June 1st so don't stress about that, you still have time! I spoke to admissions and they say after your deadline on ACORN they manually change it to June 1st but cannot do it until the deadline passes If you go on ACORN under finances I am pretty sure I clicked make payment and on the right hand side it says pay tuition and fees by credit card (make sure you choose this, tuition deposits are not able to be paid by online banking) from there it will allow you to input everything, hope this helps!

Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021
I think thats a big thing. Comparing myself now to how I was back in the start of my undergrad im a completely different person when it comes to time management and my learning style and how I study. I heard that too but I decided that I wouldnt let the tough rep of UofT be what drives me away.

If it makes you feel any better, I have actually heard that the averages in the UofT program have been pretty high within the low to mid As which I was personally surprised to hear. There is someone on Youtube called thatnursingstudent who is attending UofTs program now and talks a bit about averages of courses and the program in general. I was pretty set on Nipissing as I didn't think I would even get into UofT but hearing back from both defiantly made it a much harder decision LOL. Regardless of what you choose the end result is the same as you will finish and become an RN with either program and both have high NCLEX pass rates. Either school has you in good hands I think it just depends on your preferred learning style. Another thing to note is Nipissing doesn't have any simulation labs compared to UofT having labs throughout the program. Im not sure if that affects your decision at all either, I found that when I thought about having no labs and being thrown into a clinical setting it made me a bit anxious but im not actually sure of Nipissings approach and how they prepared you for clinical.

So this may be a bit of a ramble but ill say my thoughts and maybe this will help you too! For me I was deciding between UofT and Nipissing as well. I think I'm leaning towards UofT as im not sure how I feel about the self guided approach and teaching style of Nipissing and how I will feel come time to prep for the NCLEX. I have heard great things about both programs and its a tough choice. Nipissing you will get more time in clinical placements, as they give you 24 hours a week each semester, and the final semester you get a full 40 hours I believe for your consolidation stage (which should be the same at any university for consolidation). Nipissing does run all year and you get 3 weeks off between each semester. UofT is not full year and will end each year by the end of June giving you 2 months off. With UofT they also give you more areas to learn in clinical I feel as you have different rotations where as with Nipissing you can just be placed in sick kids and not have much adult care which depending on the person can be great! I like how UofT gives you a variety of placements, including mental health, geriatrics, peadiatrics, acute and maternity all through the first year so you really get a feel for the different areas of nursing. I also like how the courses are laid out with UofT as you're not forced to learn harder subjects (like pharm) on your own which is defiantly something I think is important. Overall both schools are really good and have relatively high NCLEX pass rates with about a 1-2% difference. I know the Nipissing program is much smaller and you do get a lot closer with classmates as I feel it would be harder to connect with all the students from UofT as the class size is between 3-4x larger I think. Both programs in terms of placements are very good though as they are affiliated with some great hospitals in the downtown region as well! Congrats to everyone by the way!
