2019 UPENN BSN/MSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! I started this thread for this years application cycle.

Specializes in MSN, RN.
I finished mine over the holiday weekend. You have to complete it in one sitting, but you are given unlimited time to prepare for each question.

Basic format:

-Given a question.

-Have unlimited time to think about (or reheorifice!) your answer.

-You can record answers up to two minutes in length.

-If you don't like your fist recording, you can do a second take. Two chances only.

-Six questions total.

Standard interview questions, so no surprises there.

What were the questions?

Im assuming "why nursing/FNP?, why Penn?, how do you handle stress?, etc etc". Anything else?

Yes, questions along those lines :)

FolksBTrippin, have you heard anything about interviewing or the status of your application yet? I applied for PMHNP BSN/MSN as well and completed the video interview.

I did not receive any info at all. Not even an invitation to interview. I guess they decided against me. I would like to know why. 3.8 gpa and have worked as an rn in psych for 1.5 years. Before that I worked in psych but not as an rn. No idea why they would not at least interview me.

Hi!

I am already getting nervous/excited for in person interviews. I will be heading to philadelphia from CA in two weeks!

Anyone know how many students are interviewed vs. admitted? Any ideas of what questions will be asked?

I applied to the ABSN/MSN women's/gender related NP program.

Did they receive all your application materials? Maybe check with the admissions office to see if you missed any communication?

anyone know penn's NCLEX pass rate?

Hi I am an ABSN applicant just wanted to join any discussion about Penn's program since there is really not much being posted about the direct entry MSN or ABSN programs. I read somewhere that they are unable to interview everyone, but I am unsure if getting or not getting an interview determines one's likelihood of being accepted/strongly considered.

So relieved that this site is back and running. Any updates from anyone?

Me also!

Tomorrow the FNP applicants who completed the interview have a webinar.

Nothing here (from the psych track)

Hi all! Has anyone who's ABSN only heard about interviews?

Anxiously awaiting - according to last year's board we should have about a month until we find out!
