  1. Exactly. The time and money I spent applying to Northeastern would have been better used on a mani-pedi.
  2. Same. I finally emailed them and asked for my decision, which by now you can guess was a no. If I had to do the application process over again, and if I really wanted to go to Northeastern, I would apply to Northeastern's ABSN program.
  3. It's like someone's running the program from the trunk of a car....
  4. Same! I've already put a deposit down elsewhere, but I really liked Northeastern's psych NP program...
  5. I didn't have Vanderbildt on my list, but I am deciding between Yale, UPenn, BC and a few others for PMHNP. Yale and Vandy seem evenly matched as far as quality of faculty, instruction, and clinicals. Personally I was really, really impressed with Yale's program; to me, the only drawback was New Haven. And not being really integrated in campus life - but I am an older student, so that part doesn't bother me much. For Vandy, you would be on the main campus, which can be nice, feeling part of the bigger picture. Nashville is a fun place to live and you don't have the long, cold winter. One thing I really liked about Yale that Vandy doesn't have is the collaboration course, where you are working alongside MD and PA students. Also, with CT being an independent practice state (for NPs), the Yale training feels geared towards preparing independent practitioners. A final thing that pushes me to Yale is the cohesive feeling among the students. At the admitted students day, I really got the sense that this is a strong, connected group of students who are learning and working together. That is important to me because I have been through another graduate program, years ago, and the friendships I made there have been so valuable to me, personally and professionally. Vanderbilt, with its distance program, might have a little less of that atmosphere, as students can be more spread out, but I'm just guessing. Good luck with your choice!
  6. Or PMHNP? The silence from Northeastern's program is deafening.... In some ways, Northeastern's direct entry master's program seems like less of a priority to them than their other programs. Any one else get that impression?
  7. Yes, I heard yesterday for psych.
  8. That is interesting, that PMHNP is one of the more competitive. Good luck with Vandy; you have two amazing choices with Columbia and Hopkins!
  9. Past groups were around 40 students. I believe they receive around 300 applications for those spots. BC used to put out a class profile for the admitted students or cohorts, but they stopped recently.
  10. Probably not, I just need to set a deadline for myself so I don't keep checking my email all week... : )
  11. I'm placing my bets on this Friday, for decisions to be released. What do you guys think?
  12. I did, it was interesting. I didn't realize that you are required to work after the BSN portion before or while going into the MSN portion. It makes sense, and I probably would work as an RN anyway...
  13. Same here - waiting. Yale released their decisions a week ago, and prior to handing out decisions, they sent an email letting you know the decision would be coming out that day. Wonder if BC will do the same? Northeastern is basically a black hole of information...
