Hey all you wonderful nurses who have made the journey across the pond, or are nearly there bar the flights! I thought it might be fun/interesting/helpful if you could post something along the lines of "One thing I wish I'd done/known when going to the USA....."
It could be funny/informative or both & could encompass learning to live in the USA or work or the immigration process: whatever you think..........
You never know, it might end up as the best sticky on the site
Of course I can start it off (although I don't actually qualify as I'm not there, or even nearly yet) by saying "I wish I'd known how long it was going to take!":)
Now over to y'all..................
thats a relief, i had visions of your 12 year old having to have afternoon naps!!
i think i should have had more sleep today
when i was a kid - even in teens ( mind you i did not stay there often haha) my grandma made us nap after lunch " to help digest our lunch" roflmao - nowadays - id kill for that nap after lunch heheheh.
I wish I knew where English-nurse's packet 4 was.
I wish I knew exactly to the day when I'd get to the USA so I could plan appropriately.
I wish I knew that retrogression was really not going to affect me.
I wish I didn't have to keep photocopying the same documents for different forms.
I wish this was all over & I was on the plane!!

I wish I knew someone in the US Embassy
I wish I had know that I can't be as straight forward as back in Europe, telling how I feel about some things, this seems to be frowned upon. I have that fake smile on my face often these days I notice. Sorry, I have had a long week....
And I seriously think we have a RICHER vocabulary back home - I miss good cursing in the break room!
