Congratulations on being accepted to nursing school.

Well I didn't go there but there must be some on here who have. Have you tried doing a search here on allnurses with the name of the school. There may be some helpful advice for you in those posts.

I would also recommend you do a search for something like "first semester help" or "new nursing student" etc. and find posts that offer hints and tips to prepare for nursing school.

Often after students begin nursing school I see posts here begging for help with dosage calculations. I would recommend to anyone planning to begin nursing school to look in the nursing section of their local bookstore for a book on drug dosage calculations or nursing pharmacology math and learn for themself this math before beginning school. Also I would recommend every pre nursing student Purchase (unless you will purchase in a bulk purchase of books upon entry to school) that you purchase the newest version of Saunders NCLEX study book and fully absorb the chapter on Test taking strategies and practice some of the chapter questions using these strategies.

Search allnurses you will find much helpful advice to prepare for nursing school.

Congrats!!! I remember that feeling of excitement well! I am half way through my first semester of nursing school and am happy to say the excitement is still holding strong! You are surely in the right place. There are some great people here and a wealth of information within these boards.

Start getting paperwork, loans, etc all in order. Time will fly by before you know it!
