Ok to send thank you card/Xmas card to Nurse Recruiter?

I was recently hired by a great nurse recruiter who went out of her way to get me the job. Basically, I was up against a lot of other far more experienced nurses. The day I was interviewed, I met 11 more people who were waiting to be interviewed for that one position.

I did send a thank you email immediately which she acknowledged but I was wondering if it is Ok to send a thank you card to her office or maybe send a Christmas/Holiday card later in December.

I think since you already thanked her that's enough but a nice Christmas card letting her know how you're doing in your new job would be greatly appreciated. Of course you can add "thanks again".

The holiday greeting card sounds like a nice gesture, especially since she went out of her way to hire you.

Its OK to send a Christmas card to any one!!! I would add a little personalized note on how much you love your new job and how you have a lot to be thankfull for this year etc etc etc...

i wouldn't send a thank you card and then a christmas card. i would just send a nice christmas card and add your thanks on the card when you sign it. horray for your new job. i am so glad you are happy !

Make that a HOLIDAY card... not everyone one is Christian.

The recruiter could be Jewish, or something else, for all you know.

What makes you think she went out of her way for you? Her job is to get jobs filled and she did. Just a thought from someone who used to think people were so wonderful but I have now learned that so many are really not very nice, even the ones who seem to be. I guess I'm cynical and have been betrayed too many times. :crying2: Furthermore, she's not the one who actually hired you, is she? Yes, a recruiter can definitely open or close doors but, really, when you come to the end of it all, she merely did her job. YOU are the one who impressed the boss to hire you. The boss must have thought you were the best one for the job. Maybe she didn't want over experienced people so much as she wanted someone she could train to do the job her way. Nothing wrong with that, just possibly a more realistic view of the picture.

That said, I guess I'd say to send a Season's Greetings card and add the thank you, as others have suggested.

I think that it is a nice gesture to send a card, updating her on how you are doing. Too many times, we believe that the daily chores of work are unappreciated. Knowing that someone thought enough of you to send a gift would probably make their day. I do agree that she did her job, so to speak, but bottom line is that there was something about it that made this a positive experience for you. Nothing wrong with giving credit where you think it is due. One day, you may get a surprize card yourself from a person you influenced and didn't realize it!
