I start NS in August, super excited and scared, want to know who all is so I can keep track when fall comes and we can share with each other
I still have to finish my last 2 pre-reqs (A & P II and Micro) this summer with "C"s or better and then I start nursing school in the fall. I was initially on a wait list and was offered a seat in the program about 3 weeks ago. I was so excited to come off the wait list. I start my nursing classes in August. Do all nursing students take pretty much the same classes, regardless of school of attendance? My fall lineup of classes are: Professional Nursing Practice (3 credits), Pathophysiology (3 credits), Intro to Pharmacology (2 credits), Health Assess/Well Indiv (4 credits w/lab), and Skills/Essen of Nursing Practices (4 credits w/lab). I'll have about 2 weeks in between the end of summer school and my next meeting with my nursing school cohort (about 80 of us). Well good luck & congratulations to us all!
First Congratulations !!!!
Here is my Nursing School Curriculum for the 2 years. These are the order we must take them with the exception of the Co Reqs that can be taken prior as well that I listed.

To: ICAN,
Good luck and congrats. I am also starting at 49, after a successful career in the finance industry. Tentative date: Fall 2009. Acceptance letters still pending. For me, 'learning is a life long process' and the wise nurses on allnurses.com gave me support and courage to pursue my dream regardless of the age factor. Therefore I am giving support to you too!!
chloejean104 where are you starting your bsn as a freshman? my daughter also is starting in a bsn program at vcu as a freshman. not many universities allow for freshman entry so that's why i'm curious as to where you are going?

I was COMPLETELY shocked about how little hours were in the first 2 semesters, and I didn't even realize there was 5 semesters until I got the schedule. My school didn't want so much in the first year, thats why they broke it up, supposedly it is supported by a higher pass rate, but I'm not real sure. ANNDDD my orientation is the Saturday after the first week of courses??!!! Odd huh?? I'm verry excited, and a little nervous. Good luck to all of you..

I will be taking Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Foundations of Nursing Practice + Clinical, and Holistic Health + Lab which equal out to 15 credits. Our class list sounds similar.
