I start NS in August, super excited and scared, want to know who all is so I can keep track when fall comes and we can share with each other
i received my acceptance letter about 2 weeks ago. i thought that i was going to have an emotional breakdown! i started crying & shaking & screaming when i opened the letter. mind you, i only read "congratulations!" i was on the phone with my mom at the time and she was freaking out too. then she told me that i should read the whole letter aloud "just to make sure!"
it's been an extremely long haul for me. i completed my pre-reqs back in 2005...and was wait-listed for various adn programs in the long beach/orange county area. i got tired of waiting & i decided to transfer to cal state long beach and graduated last august with my bs in health care adminstration. after working for one year in the corporate world (and spending pretty much every week wondering if i would still have a job...) i decided "one last time" to apply to four nursing programs (3 adn programs and 1 Accelerated BSN program.) nursing was always my first choice as a career, but nothing ever seemed to go my way (like not being able to register for physiology because it was too impacted...and getting a really bad case of mono halfway through my anatomy class.)
basically, long story short...i figured that i would always be one of those people who had wished that they had been a nurse, but never was able to do so. and after receiving one rejection letter after another, i became quite frustrated to say the least!!
my story has a very happy ending: i will be starting saddleback college's adn program (in mission viejo, ca) on august 24th!
oh, and i just started my summer session pharmacology class yesterday.
nolimitam,
Thank you so much for your kind words! :)
Congratulations on getting accepted into your program as well.
I am very, very excited (and totally nervous at the same time!)
It's nice knowing what I'm going to be when I grow up. (At 25, I still refuse to refer to myself as a grown up!) :)
the waiting game is the worst! i applied to 4 different programs from december-february of this year. i finally got my last rejection letter over the weekend. but, i had already been accepted to one program. so, who cares if they didn't want me? (i'm too good for them anyway!) :)
that's the right attitude!!! you are in - that's the point. congrats!!!
i just got a call last wednesday asking if i wanted to accept my seat because i was originally on the alternate list, number 29 to be exact! so me getting in is a huge blessing. i thought i would prob have to reapply next year. i'm not exactly sure when my first day is but we do have an orientation day june 28 to get fitted for our scrubs and everything!
i'm going to guilford technical community college in jamestown, north carolina.
