OHSU BSN Fall 2017

Hi all I just thought I would start this, since there doesn't appear to be anything started for the Fall 2017 3 year BSN at OHSU. Feel free to update as you get emails regarding interviews, acceptances, etc. This week it looks like everyone should be hopefully getting a email hearing something if they are chosen for a interview. I wonder if due to the lack of any posts for the Fall 2017 that means that competition isn't as fierce as in prior cycles... this is probably not the case. But it seems like the cohort has been alot more quite then in the past.

I agree with Mbells. I was not in your interview group, but an additional tip is to take your time. Count to 3 and formulate your response before you say it. Make sure you initiate eye contact with each interviewer everytime you answer a question and be sincere. Try to relate your experience to every question, and try to think of something unique that they may not hear from someone else.

Come up with a list of questions beforehand and answer as many as you can, that way you're prepared with an experience if a similar question shows up. There's tons of resources online with practice interview questions! Also, practice interviewing with a friend or family member. It sounds silly, but this helped me tremendously because I identified my bad habits right away and corrected them (as best as I could!).

When other people are answering their questions, keep a straight face and keep your head up! Smile!!

Nicole! Great ideas! I forgot I made word docs FULL of questions beforehand and thought of all the ways I could answer them. I also made lists of my own good attributes, experiences and things that I know I could work on. I also wrote explanations to myself (lol) with whys for each one so I really knew how to answer. This also made me more confident. Listen to Nicole though, she's smart and wonderful. ;)

Hi all, I received an interview email with OHSU Portland campus on St. Patty's Day! My interview is April 20th! I am so excited and so nervous! I also received an email April 24th from MHCC for an interview that is on April 12th! I havent heard back from CCC or PCC yet, has anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestions for interviews at either OHSU or MHCC? Good luck to everyone!!

For people that received email invites to OHSU Monmouth, have you received your letters in the mail with the dates and times of your interview yet? I'm still waiting for mine. The email says to contact them if no letter has been come by the 31st. I'm getting tired of checking my mail everyday lol.

I have not rec'd my letter yet- I did email Adria to confirm the letter was arriving via US mail- she wrote back she was sending the interview information via US mail and email to make sure everyone receives it. But I've still rec'd nothing. Will check again today!

Hi everyone! First time posting on this thread. Congrats to everyone who has received invitations for interviews. I applied to MHCC (not selected for interview), OHSU- Portland (have heard nothing), PCC (got interview/essay invite) and CCC (haven't heard anything) and Clark (too early for them). Question, does anyone know if I should have heard from OHSU either way? Sounds like everyone who got the invite to interview heard around 3/17. I would just like to have been notified either way- the stress of waiting is awful!

oh and for anyone who didn't get the interview invite to MHCC I heard they sometimes don't offer you one and depending on RSVP's they re-email at a later time with a invite.
