OHSU ABSN 2021

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else is applying for the ABSN at OHSU for 2021? I just submit my application for the Ashland campus and would love to connect with other people who are applying! I'm feeling pretty nervous about how competitive the program is ?

I can't tell you exactly what happens on the OHSU side for applications verified after the deadline, but I had a similar situation. I was having a beast of a time getting transcripts to be sent from a couple schools, took them 6+weeks. Anyway, I contacted OHSU and they told me that as long as I submitted by the deadline and the application was complete, they give 2 weeks for verification after the deadline. So it sounds like you should be good. Once all my transcripts were in and my application was complete, it only took 3-4 days for verification. 

One last tip, watch your email like a hawk. If there are things that NursingCAS needs you to fix, they will send it in an email. Mind you, they probably won't tell you how to fix it. Example, they said I didn't report a school I never went to, so I had to contact that school and they were nice enough to rush a letter saying they had no record of me ever having attended. Also, I'm still fighting to have some of my grades counted into my GPA. But my application is complete and verified. Nursing CAS in itself is an adventure.

Hey all-- joining in to say I'm already on the anxious-email-refresh train even though I'm not expecting to hear anything till Feb. I applied for Fall start ABSN and checked the box saying consider me for any term. I'm a career transition (PhD scientist right now) which makes me a little nervous-- I wasn't able to volunteer or shadow due to COVID so have pretty much zero patient experience. 

FWIW, my application was verified quite quickly (I want to say 1-2 days), but I did the transcript request really early, and took my sweet time with entry and essay writing.

I just got an email from an admissions counselor on Friday requesting the syllabus for a course I took almost two years ago by Monday! The school I took it at was able to get me a copy of the current syllabus, but I'm still waiting for them to get back to me with the syllabus from my specific attendance dates. The curriculum is the same, so I sent it in and am hoping they will understand  with the quick turnaround. Anyone else have experience with having to do this?

Hey all—update on the verification. I was terrified it was going to take forever but I got an email this morning that my application was verified. So for my fellow worrywarts, it took exactly 4 days!

Question for those discussing application verifications. I submitted my app maybe a week or two ago and have only received an email regarding submitting some missing info that I had to send and an email about the application & interview timeline. Is there another email I should be looking for about verifying? And is it from OHSU or nursing cas? Any help is appreciated thank you!!

I received an email from NursingCas ([email protected]) that said my application was verified about a day after I submitted!

If Nursing CAS emailed about missing information, or the application does not show "Complete" on Nursing CAS, they will not verify your application until all missing documents are in. Good Luck!

Has anyone received an email from OHSU confirming that they received your application after NursingCAS has verified it?

Yeah, I have! It was an email notifying me that they have received my application. They also provided a timeline is the same email. I got it this past Friday

Ah okay thank you! My application got verified on Saturday so I’m hoping for a confirmation email this week??

Yep! I think I got my email from OHSU the day after applications were due? It does seem like in the remote format they're doing away with the group interviews, which is probably for the better. I was honestly having a hard time imagining group Zoom interviews going well. Now it's just time to wait.
