  1. Hi there! I don't have experience with JH but you can probably email OHSU and ask them about it. They'll be able to let you know. I asked them about my classes from out of state and they were more than happy to help. I would bet that any classes from an accredited institution would transfer. BUT contact OHSU to make sure. Also, make sure that the cost it worth it. Community college route may be cheaper and I think many are still doing online classes if that is a concern. JH charges $350 per credit, Portland Community College, for example is $123 per credit. Most classes are between 3-5 credits depending on the school. Portland CC also has a 10 week schedule for each class like JH. You can also look at community colleges out of state. You'll just have to pay their out of state tuition. Example, California has a ton of online classes that meet prereq requirements, but their out of state tuition is $290 per unit. Still cheaper than Johns Hopkins. Hope that helps! Good luck! P.S. I am an admitted student for the Winter 2022 ABSN cohort, so my prereqs through California and Oregon community colleges worked.
  2. Congrats! Can't wait to meet you! If you have FB, we have a FB group, feel free to join :-)
  3. No official acceptance yet. I did receive a pin to access self service. But I did not receive a user name. I think it was prompted by OHSU receiving my FAFSA information.
  4. I just got accepted for Winter 2022 @ Portland!
  5. Nothin' ? I feel your pain! Maybe we'll hear next week?
  6. Take my advice with a grain of salt as I have not even been accepted into a program yet. If it were me, I would cut my losses and try to get into a different program. I also want to be a CRNA, but if your grades are not competitive, it just adds extra stress down the line when you apply for CRNA school. My GPA from my BA is crap because of life circumstances, so I had to work extra hard on prereqs to even be looked at for nursing school. You'll face similar challenges with CRNA school if you can't bring your GPA up. If your program doesn't have the best reputation, and you know you could do better elsewhere, and you have strong prereq grades, I would seriously consider going elsewhere. Otherwise you are throwing your money and time away. Additionally, admissions offices have a good idea of how different programs rank. You'll probably have the opportunity to talk about why your dropped out, and if your program is known for its overall poor performance, admissions offices should understand. Side note: There is a nurse on Youtube (forget her name) who was failing in her program and she dropped out. She ended up reapplying to NYU nursing and was accepted. It is Youtube, so take that for what it is worth, but it is possible. Good luck! I hope things work out no matter what you choose to do!
  7. If Nursing CAS emailed about missing information, or the application does not show "Complete" on Nursing CAS, they will not verify your application until all missing documents are in. Good Luck!
  8. Hey Harriet, I can't tell you exactly what happens on the OHSU side for applications verified after the deadline, but I had a similar situation. I was having a beast of a time getting transcripts to be sent from a couple schools, took them 6+weeks. Anyway, I contacted OHSU and they told me that as long as I submitted by the deadline and the application was complete, they give 2 weeks for verification after the deadline. So it sounds like you should be good. Once all my transcripts were in and my application was complete, it only took 3-4 days for verification. One last tip, watch your email like a hawk. If there are things that NursingCAS needs you to fix, they will send it in an email. Mind you, they probably won't tell you how to fix it. Example, they said I didn't report a school I never went to, so I had to contact that school and they were nice enough to rush a letter saying they had no record of me ever having attended. Also, I'm still fighting to have some of my grades counted into my GPA. But my application is complete and verified. Nursing CAS in itself is an adventure. Good luck!!
  9. I had the same situation. I ordered my transcripts mid-November to be released when grades were posted. As of last week, they still haven't released. Grades were delayed at the school due to staffing around COVID and the holidays. I ended up just sending in a new transcript and hoping the grades were on there. At least if you have a transcript in there showing the classes in progress, your application will be complete.
  10. Like magic! Ha! Thanks for the input! ?
  11. Did Nursing CAS give you any indication when they started the verification on your application? Or was it just boom! its verified?
  12. Anyone apply to the Winter cohort in Portland? I summitted my app a couple weeks back and was biting my nails until my transcripts were received. Anyone else have issues getting transcripts due to COVID staffing at the schools. One of mine took 6 weeks to get in yikes! Anyone have their app already verified and have a time estimate for how long it took? I know they say 2 weeks, just wondering if anyone has current info... the stress never ends ?
  13. @Paula LaMagna my story is scary similar to yours. Hoping to for the best for you and your application! Maybe we'll be in the same cohort ;-) Best of luck!
