So I am hoping to be accepted into the OHSU program in Portland, Oregon for an accelerated BSN program. My cumulative GPA is 3.18 for my bachelors but my prerequisite GPA will be much higher. During undergrad I was in an abusive relationship, my brother passed, my narcissistic mother killed my dog... it was just a bad time. So I am proud to have pulled a 3.18. Now I'm in a much better place and school can be my main focus now. But is it hopeless to think I'll get in with that GPA? I also don't really have any official medical experience. I do work with special needs children and have worked with juvenile offenders so the social work aspect of nursing I feel I will do well in. My mother was a CNA and we helped my grandmother during the last stages of her life with Dementia. But I was a minor so obviously my help is not on record. I also use to go to in-home care places with my mom and help out there as well and even go there without her to help out. Sorry, this is so rambly but I'm just very anxious. I want to become a nurse so bad but don't know if I have a chance with this program. Any insights?
