Hey all!
Now that the application deadline has passed, I feel comfortable finally starting a post. Just curious to hear who else applied to this program. It's fascinating to me to hear about people's different experiences, stats, expectations, etc. I'm also wondering what other programs people might've applied to? I got my submission in for the Portland ABSN to FNP/DNP program as well.
Best of luck to everyone! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and perspectives.
I wasn't sure where to send it and if I should address it specifically to my interviewers. Did do one card for all three of your interviewers? I'll probably just send one tomorrow as a thank you. This is my first time interviewing at a school so I wasn't sure if that something people did or not

I sent one to one of my interviewers, but that's because she's the director of admissions. Otherwise, I probably would've just sent a card to admissions thanking them for their time and energy. I didn't receive enough specifics on the other people on my panel to know where to send anything.
He did go to L & C. I'm guessing Willamette for your partner? I love that campus. My husband worked in Salem for two years and I would at times meet him down there and walk around the campus. The coffee shop is amazing and cheap! This is my first time applying to OHSU. Last year I applied to PCC and got in but since we were moving out to Pendleton I decided the timing wasn't the greatest. I wish I could have applied to both accelerated programs at OHSU. Ashland would be a great place to live for 16 months.
Thank you for calling the school about the admissions timeline. I'll be checking my email like crazy the next few weekdays! Fingers crossed!
Yes, he's at Willamette. I'd never spent considerable time in Salem before we started dating and I absolutely love it now. There are obviously parts of town that aren't great or where there isn't a lot to do, but by and large, it's a wonderful place. I don't know if you've been there since/were there when they opened Archive (this coffee shop by day, bar by night), but it's absolute heaven.
Congrats on PCC last year! I can see how that would be a tough time though and think you probably made the right decision. That being said, PCC is supposed to be absolutely insane to get into too, so I'd bet you make it into OHSU if you made it in there. I think it's kind of silly you can't apply to both programs but I have heard of certain occasions where people who applied to Portland got offered a spot in Ashland, so I guess maybe that's possible?
No problem! I'm going to be practically glued to my email all day. It seems like it'd be far too lucky for us to hear today but a certain bit of depression over just needing to know is setting in, so I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed. If anyone else decides to call admissions today to see if they can be more specific about timing, let me know hahaha
I received a weird email this morning which prompted to me call IT and admissions. It said "URGENT- OHSU Pin Notification- Open Immediately" So I called IT and they said it came from a legit email that they have for the student portal on campus, but then I called admissions and she said it sounded weird and had no knowledge about it. Now I find myself in a limbo whither or not to see what it is, but it does look very strange. Admissions said they haven`t sent any emails off yet though, so everyone is still in the waiting game. Hopefully by the end of this week we will know!

If you submitted FAFSA, they'll likely send a follow up shortly. I got the same thing months ago and it was in regards to filling more info out for financial aid. Did admissions say anything about when emails might be going out? I called on Friday and they said beginning of this week and I'm starting to wonder if she was actually being honest.
Ahh! Gotcha! At least it isn`t spam. Glad you knew what it was. And no I didn`t ask, If I don`t hear anything a week from now then i`ll be bothering them, but I am sure they have received plenty of calls asking the past couple days, so I am just going to find patience. I presume though by Friday we will have an idea.
Well just got my "no way" for the 3rd year in a row after interviewing, graduating with all pre-reqs done, and graduating Summa with BS in Psych 2015 from SOU, decades of hands on medical experience, great letters of reference, and still I'm not even on a freakin wait list. Up til now, I was sad, now I'm getting angry. My classes - none of them- were basket weaving classes, I took higher level psych classes and nursing pre-reqs for my "electives"- they say you can talk to them about your app after May 1, but I can tell you now having done it before, it's a generic conversation, very general. I have to wonder.

I'm really sorry to hear about this for you, but am glad to know emails have at least started going out. The whole thing becomes such a crapshoot at a certain point, and it certainly seems to generally be luck of the draw after the interviews. I wish you better luck in the future and, again, you have my sympathy. My expectations are very low so it wouldn't be remotely shocking if I end up in the same boat as you here soon.
Every time I see a post, my heart stops. This is nerve-wrecking! I am so sorry you did not get accepted. The faculty member we met with told us to remember that even if we don't get in it doesn't mean we won't be amazing nurses. I think that advice is really helping me face possible rejection.

Good thing to remember, definitely. Sweet lord I almost had a heart attack even just seeing that I had an email and finding out it was this. I am DYING. I wonder why no one else seems to have heard yet?

I sent a card the day after. You could certainly send one as a nice consideration if you'd like, but since they're sending out decisions early this week (assuming they follow their own timeline), I wouldn't worry about it too much.
