  1. Interviews for La Grande were April 6. We found out mid week last week. I'm sorry, crd1990! It is a really tough process and to even get an interview is telling of your academic credentials.
  2. I got into OHSU in La grande! Anyone else here?
  3. I received my invite as well! I don't think I can give out the essay questions from last year, but I'll let you know none of them were curve balls. After preparing for nursing interviews as well with questions I found on the internet, I felt pretty prepared. :)
  4. I feel like you should get invited for the essay if it's similar to last year! :)
  5. I think I had 53 or 54 points. I was accepted last year but had to decline due to moving to the eastern Oregon. I'm really crossing my fingers that I get in again this year!
  6. Last year I received my email for the proctored essay on March 28. I'm hoping we hear end of this week!
  7. I am so sorry! I am in the same boat. I'm in an accelerated program in Boston but I'd rather stay in Oregon. My other option is PCC if I get in this year (got in last year) which would take longer but is so affordable! It was hard to read that email yesterday, but it speaks volumes about is that we made it as far as the interview. I'm curious if I would have been accepted in Ashland if I had applied there instead. Oh well!
  8. Thank you for your detailed answer! :) I submitted my deposit but I am waiting on a few more schools to get back to me where I live in Oregon. Boston is very inviting though and I almost attended Simmons for undergraduate and loved the campus. $9 parking?! That's great! I used to drop my sister off at Emmanuel often so I can navigate that area. I could live with my parents for free on the south shore and commute daily. The tuition cost is what scares me. Do you think it's worth the price tag? I would return to rural Oregon after and hopefully start paying back my loans fast!
  9. Hey all. I applied to PCC last year and got accepted but unfortunately my husband and I made a move to eastern Oregon and I didn't think the timing was quite right so declined. I'm crossing my fingers I get in again this year. I have all prerequisites done, a bachelor's degree, and a 4.0 GPA. I don't have any medical experience except for working 400 + hours in a medical facility (assisted living home). I'm also waiting to see if I get an interview for OHSU in La Grande. Already wait-listed for OHSU ABSN in Portland which was a bummer!
  10. NewRN- more questions for you if you don't mind. :) What would you say was the total cost of your time at Simmons excluding room & board? Did you find a job pretty quickly? How do you think Simmons stacks up to other programs in the area? Thanks so much for your insight!
  11. Received my decision. Unfortunately, I didn't get in. I'm moderately likely on the wait list so you never know! Happy I got this far though and good luck to all that are accepted. You guys rock! :)
  12. Did anyone else just receive an email about FAFSA? I had received it and had also received it when I first applied but I couldn't do anything further since I wasn't an admitted student. Now I see that I'm eligible on their financial aid website...trying not to read into it. :/
  13. I also applied to an east coast school and got into Simmons College's accelerated program. It's a great school with a great reputation. However, it is expensive! I am really hoping I get into OHSU so I don't have to start thinking of how I am going to afford living in Boston and leave my husband for 16 months.
  14. I'm thinking nothing until tomorrow now that it's almost 5 PM.
