Ohio State Master's Entry Summer 2016

Published

Hello! Has anyone out there applied to the Entry Master's Program at Ohio State for the Summer 2016 start?

What speciality did you apply to? I applied for Pediatrics and Neonatal

I was also offered an interview! I applied for family and pediatrics.

Just to update - I did my interview. I wanted to get it out of the way and felt that I just had to do it asap in order to not overthink it. Wellll...it went so SUPER FAST!! I honestly can't believe it was that quick and am not sure how they will even use that to determine much, but I am now thinking it was a more of a courtesy they offer rather than a real make-or-break for the program. Hopefully that will ease some of everyone's anxiety!

I applied and did not receive an interview invite. I called the school and they said applications were still under review and final decisions might take up to February. Yikes. I don't know if this means more interview invites will be forthcoming or if the interviews were for people they hadn't decided to accept or chop yet.

I received an interview. I was very nervous. Im assuming everyone receives an interview and that they are in fact make or break interviews if some people were denied after getting an interview last year? When I emailed a question to admissions they said early next semester we would hear back. I applied to the psych nursing program. All my pre-reqs are complete, with a 3.26 cum gpa and a 3.8 upper division gpa. I worked at a health dept for a year, a residential drug rehab as a counselor since july and a cna since sept. I also am a certified health education specialist. I am still not sure if this is enough to be competitive with individuals who have 3.5/3.6 but reviewing older posts a lot of people mention they are big on having the pre-reqs finished. Anybody else applying to psych? I saw one person. I also heard last year 21 people applied to psych and 20 got in.

Anyone else want to share their credentials?

Best of Luck

Hi there,

Congrats on getting an interview! I am planning to do mine tomorrow. Can you share any insight into what questions they asked or how many there were? Do you get a chance to think about how to answer before it starts recording? I am applying to the Women's Health Specialty. Best of luck to you!

Kbuss_14 I am applying to Women's Health as well. Have you done your interview yet?

Jraelyn I did my interview already it went by so fast only about 4 questions! It was a pretty standard interview best of luck!

kbuss_14.... Just finished mine. It was so fast and we had so little time to respond it was a bit nerve wracking! Did you repeat the question once you started recording? I totally forgot to do that ( as they asked in the email invite), but I feel if we would have then there would have been little (or no) time to respond.

I don't think I did well, but I'm always hard on myself so who knows what they will think. I am having a hard time thinking the interview will really count for much as it only lasts a couple of minutes. How much weight can they actually give to that?

jraelyn I felt nervous the whole time but I did read the questions out loud. I don't even know how I did because of how fast it went but I don't think it could really make or break anyone. I have also heard that women's health isn't too competitive so we shouldn't worry too much :)

That interview process was WAY better than last year's! I really wish we could hear back before Christmas. Last year, the first round of decisions went out 12/12/14.

I agree! I liked the questions better this year.I can't wait to hear back but know earlier decisions seem to be negative.
