Ohio State Master's Entry Summer 2016

Published

Hello! Has anyone out there applied to the Entry Master's Program at Ohio State for the Summer 2016 start?

What is taking them so long?...... the waiting is killing me!

Quick question to the ones admitted ( If you all don't mind I ask), in the email your received were you notified that you were being considered for a fellowship? A few of us are trying to figure out what the "special reason" admissions stated might be. Thanks! Stay warm everyone!

I didn't see anything about being considered for a fellowship. However some of our acceptance fees were waived for some unknown reason so that may be an indicator.

Hoping for the best for everyone who has not heard back!!!

Does anyone have friends that have been in this program before? How did they describe their experiences?

Every person I've spoke with about the program have all shared positive feelings about the program. None of them were "friends" of mine, but I've definitely reached out to people who are in the program on Facebook before I applied to see if they would still recommend it.

I have two friends who graduated the program and they said it was excellent, but rigorous. Neither of them were able to work, except for PRN RN work once they got their licenses, during holidays and breaks.

I talked to an old acquaintance of mine from undergrad who is graduating this year from the program. She has worked ~20hours a week at the hospital during the entire program both before and after getting her RN. It seems like other people I've talked to work, just not full time.

Is anyone else planning on working? I know I am, but probably not very much.

A couple of the cats I work with are doing it and they have worked full time (32-36hrs) the whole time. They're EXHAUSTED.

A friend of mine in Family says he works full time in the hospital and is getting along easily in the program. I guess it just depends on the person.

32-36 hours seems crazy to me. Though I've known a couple of people who have worked those hours as an RN for the last part of the program. I bet it just does depend on the person. If you look at the curriculum, it seems like many of the most difficult courses are front loaded, so it might be possible to work those hours during the last year.
