Applied for RN and day LPN; accepted into day LPN

TEAS 88.2

Pre-Req GPA 3.4

Nothing done yet - no physical, no uniforms, no CPR nothing!!! Anyone want to do CPR together if possible?? Also, who wants to help me get together ~$1500 in the next 6w so I can pay for classes, books and the first month of $600/mo daycare?? :crying2: Ahhhhhh!!!

I too am turning in my acceptance letter today! Yippee!

Someone mentioned engraving their Littman, I was thinking about engraving mine with my email address in case I ever lose it. What do you think?

My Littman is engraved w/ my name. I read Docs will take by accident....Not mine!! :)

Physical scheduled for my Bday 7/14 my daughter has surgery the next day so trying to use my insurance before we have none.

I'm trying to figure out how to get a loan as Sallie Mae can no longer do them. So much to do!

For the RN program at Dade City you will be at either Florida Hospital Zephyrhills or Pasco Regional. I don't know about clinical placements for north or west campus. Several classmates of mine received sponsorships. They worked as a PCT like 8hr per pay period required, the hospital paid the school fees directly to the school. The students are required to work an allotted time after graduation for the hospital (approximately 6 months per semester paid) if you don't then you must pay back in full.

I spoke with a lady in the nursing department about sponsorships. She said due to the economy, it seems that there aren't as many offered as there used to be. She said really Oak Hill in Spring Hill is IT.

So, I will continue my quest for funds. On to the next phase of stress...lol

Just to clarifiy, FHZ where I work, does tuition reimbursement for employees for RN school (so maybe start checking the website). YOu have to work 2 shifts a month and can get up to $1750/sem, up to $7K. Then you contract to work after you get your RN, for each semester paid. So if they paid for all 2 years, you would work for them for 2 years post grad. And if you break the contract, you pay back 150%, not just what they paid.

But in these days of many nurses being unable to find post-grad jobs... forget the money, I want the job! LOL

Oh and I can't do this weekend for meeting up! And since this my post and my idea, we will meet when I can meet!!! :nono: (Even though I am not even going to school come August!) HA!!!!

(Just kidding!!) :jester:

On the table was either Friday July 9th or the Friday in August, the week of Orientation.

We should meet as often as possible before August 23rd, for that is when our social lives will officially end...lmao

I am trying to remain optimistic that Nursing school will not be nearly as strenuous as we fear. When I took all of the pre-requisites in the same semester, I was forewarned by counselors and peers that it would be stressful and reflect in my grades..... ;) It didn't :)

Soooooo, I am going into the program with the mindset that this will be a breeze! Especially since a lot of us have either completed most, if not all, of the co-requisites, we will only have one ten credit course each semester!

I would really love a list of everything we will need to purchase, though.

Turned in my seat acceptance :yeah:and told to expect a package in two to three weeks. Gave my manager a heads up today on my departure since I'm the only one on my client and I'm helping on another client of a friend's who is extremely ill waiting for a kidney. So they have time to find my replacement and I can train them.

Time to work on my to do list......Again....I may just become OCD.

I dropped off my RN acceptance personally this morning! :nurse:

So much to do, so little time! But I'm excited! Spoke with some current RN students in microbiology class today and they said no need to buy the lab coat for the first semester. They were really encouraging and said the first day seems overwhelming but it gets better and remember that it's everyone's first time too! :)

Please let me know when we are meeting at Brass Tap. I will definitely try to make it. I think we all deserve it!:yeah:
