Nothing done yet - no physical, no uniforms, no CPR nothing!!! Anyone want to do CPR together if possible?? Also, who wants to help me get together ~$1500 in the next 6w so I can pay for classes, books and the first month of $600/mo daycare?? Ahhhhhh!!!
Try this... Welcome to SHOES FOR CREWS - The Shoe That Grips : Slip-Resistant Footwear, Mats and Overshoes. A lot of waiters, nurses, surgeons, and professionals on their feet all day have recommended this site to me. Shoes...I won't go cheap on since you can easily bruise your arches and get leg and back pain as time goes on. I bought a pair of White MBT Sports from The Walking Company at Wiregrass (also at International Mall). I have the same shoes in black for my server job at Chili's and they feel like you're on jello. Also may wanna try Happy Feet. Just don't settle for those crappy custom inserts from Walgreens or CVS. Get good shoes with a frame and/or arch support. I bought a watch from Wal-mart for $10 when I got my CNA that has been extremely durable. I am not sure about purchasing a stethoscope from our bookstore since I know they normally mark everything else up as it is. I'd recommend checking one of those uniform supply stores or health supply stores for their selection since they get them in bulk. Good luck and see everyone at orientation. Is there any get together scheduled yet?
MJ...I am accepting the LPN Days. However, If HCC comes calling in September for their January RN Program, I will have to decide whether to stick it out at PHCC, take a semester off to get my License and apply for an Rn-Bridge (with no guarantee of entry of course), or withdraw and go over to HCC. Already started my "what-if" lists, but I AM grateful for anything as I know someone else would have loved to have it and more people that I know currently have NO offers on the table. I work at Chili's...so please, do NOT pick them for the get together!!
LMAO but they have 2 for 1 drinks! lol jk we can go somewhere like a bar or something. We were discussing the Brass Tap in Wiregrass and that seems to be the consensus. I would completely understand if you dropped the LPN program to do the RN program at HCC. That way you wouldn't have to take the risk of doing this all over again for the bridge program.
I read somewhere on here (tho I can't find it now) that the clinical sites are Brooksville Regional for Dade City and Community Hospital for NPR. Don't know if that's 100% accurate. I guess we have to wait until orientation to find out which campus we'll be on? I ran my address on mapquest and I am 3 miles closer to NPR so it could go either way for me.
Thanks for the allheart.com site. I was wondering how many colors the Littman came in and I think I'm going to do the engraving since I've read on here that the Littmans tend to get stolen. This website is full of such useful information but I have to admit now that I know for sure I'm doing this, it's all a bit overwhelming! LOL

Does anyone know anything about sponsorships? I need to find one because I can't take out any more loans... And also, can anyone explain how they work? Like, I know you are contracted to work for the hospital for 2 or so years after graduation, but how do they give you the scholarship money? And is your pay rate reduced during your contract to make up for what they paid you?

I don't think I've ever seen one of those watches..or noticed someone wearing one that doesn't tick.
I'm going to accept the West Campus..won't they just have me do my classes there then? Or do they skip you around?
