Congrats to everyone who made it in!! Looks like some of us will be meeting tomorrow, June 25th @ 7p at the Brass Tap up at Wiregrass Mall in Wesley Chapel. Anyone is welcome to come celebrate and have a drink! We deserve it!!!

Christina

Applied for RN and day LPN; accepted into day LPN

TEAS 88.2

Pre-Req GPA 3.4

Nothing done yet - no physical, no uniforms, no CPR nothing!!! Anyone want to do CPR together if possible?? Also, who wants to help me get together ~$1500 in the next 6w so I can pay for classes, books and the first month of $600/mo daycare?? :crying2: Ahhhhhh!!!

Saturday Brass Tap works for me. However, from the looks of things, I may be the only guy there. Everyone I've seen post on this thread, to my knowledge, is a woman. Roll call...guys??

Isiah - correct me here, but isnt it every guys dream to be the ONLY guy amongst many women??? Granted, many of us are married. But I'm pretty certain there are a few that aren't......hmmmmm..... ;-)

Sat might work for me. H is coming back in town that day/night so it all depends on if he is back. I say let's plan it nad if I can't make it, well, I'm not actually a NS per se, so I can't balk that much, RIGHT??? HA!!!!

Chris...I'm married too, so I guess it all comes out alright. Personally, I think it'd be funny if I'm the only guy in our class. When we show up, everyone should walk in with a post-it note on their forehead with their username to make it easier to tell who's who (I think someone on here posted that already?).

I know of two other guys in the RN program for August but I don't know if I'll be in touch with either one before Saturday.

Saturday seems like the night. What time?

How about 7 or 8pm? Does that work for everyone?

Jenn?? Where are you? lol

Here I am :) I am not getting the email updates anymore either. I think this thread has gotten entirely too long and allnurses just doesn't know what to do about it! lol

I should be able to get out for a bit Saturday evening--fun fun!

Someone start a new thread with deets, cool? And link it, then we can END this one! It's 8000 pages long ;)

Damn, some progress has been made on this thread! WOW!!!!!!!!! :)

As for the Brass Tap, I think it would be so great to all get together and meet up! Saturday works for me, as well....although, I will have to find a sitter. Hmm....I will have to get on that one.

I thought I would fill you guys in on a bit of my excitement. I got a job at St. Joseph's (woot woot!) and am working as a radiology assistant in the reading room at the hospital. I am taking over overnight shifts, so this should be exciting to balance with nursing school ;) One must do what one must do....

I was also chosen as an Ambassador for PHCC, which is AWESOME! It's a very enthralling time for me. I feel so behind because I haven't even considered buying anything ahead of time for the program. It looks like I will have to put everything on my Pell, which is lame, because everything will have to be purchased through the school store. I just submitted my background check and reserved for orientation, on top of filling out all of the paperwork for the 3rd.

I have been shopping around for immunizations and the physical, and will be getting that done next week. I know I'm cutting it close, but I have become insanely busy....all in addition to being a single mother. Phew.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I REALLY hope we all meet on Sat! How are we going to distinguish ourselves?

This Saturday works, then. Let's do 7 so that anyone with sitters don't have to be out too terribly late. As for identifying each other, we should be able to figure it out if we look for other lost people!

New thread alert. I feel like this one should be archived :)

Anyone who lives in Hernando County or is willing to drive to Hernando County this is some information I want to share.

Hernando County Health Department will NOT do PPD but WILL give you a letter stating you passed the requirements not to have one. I called PHCC and they told me if you cannot get an actual PPD then you need to have a chest x-ray.

Also, I did ask about immunizations and they do them there at the Health Dept.

Anyone who needs a physical and does not have insurance. Try calling my doctors office at 596-1770 I was told they will do school physicals for $27 (that does not include immunizations or bloodwork).
