Hi there,
I just want to tell you that you are the only one who knows where you are standing, right? NCLEX, RN is not just test taking strategies... it's base on knowledge, I mean they never ask you what does colostomy mean? but you have to know about it, how to care, what kind of feces you see if it's on L side or R side or... you know what I mean?? That's why I say it's base on knowledge.
Since you have a plan to take NCLEX on October you have a plenty of time to manage. I recommend you to start with the review course of " Helen Feuer ", it's brilliant. While studying feuer, have Anatomy and physiology for dummies on the other hand and dictionary English to your language in front of you( that's what I did b/c I 'm a student with English as a second language!!). Study those lectures, memorize them and connect them to each other, try to understand, like if you know what is the job of the liver ( form the book of A&P for dummies) Think about when you have liver dysfunction. when reading about each topic (like heart ) try to study medications for that topic. in feuer they mention just the name of some, you have to memorize those medications name, S/E and so on ( in Saunders book I found) after each topic that you mastered, try to do Qs and read the rationals, Saunders are really good for learning qs and rationals ( I did both cd and book), I believe you can do it for may be 2 months or 3 months. beginning of August when you feel kind of know every things, start doing Qs more and take a note from the qs that you got wrong or even the one's that you got wright but by chance. Start eliminate answer choices by giving rationals in your mind, if you don't know what is the rational for deleting it, find it and write it down in your notebook and please classified your notebook, make your own chapters, one is for heart, one is for Adrenal, one for Diabetes and one for Blood transfusion and so on, every night read those rationals that you wrote in your note book. Now I believe you are ready for just doing Qs, Cram- exam book is really good and it has 1250 qs close to real one(NCLEX), lots of priority. and kaplan Q-banks are helpful. and be strong and believe in yourself. You are ready for exam, don't forget that those qs you get them wrong at home will be right in NCLEX! and That's our goal, right?? That's what I did, I start On January and I took my exam on April 30th. in 4 months.
Hope it's helpful for you...
Good luck,
1 day RN!! with an engineering background and English as a second language. :)

by the way GOOD LUCK in your exam. Just go with your own pace and method of studying. Just don't try to study to the point that you don't understand what you are studying. Take breaks in between to replenish your energy.
hi!!!! i'm also taking my exam this october. i started my review since last april but only for a few hours a day. I already finished reviewing the Saunders book last June now i'm planning to review what i've read. Aside from reviewing i'm doing at least 100 question's a day.by the way GOOD LUCK in your exam. Just go with your own pace and method of studying. Just don't try to study to the point that you don't understand what you are studying. Take breaks in between to replenish your energy.

I'm also following Suzann'es tip and will take the boards on October. I originally joined September test takers' thread but moved here since I needed at least 45 days of studying and 4 days of relaxing. So, good luck to all of us and share some insights how you're doing with your review.:wink2:
