If you've ever Failed the NCLEX for RN
Hi there, "Helen Feuer" The best review course ever.
-
Kaplan strategies book vs. kaplan course book...
Kaplan is not enough, I read strategies book and I did Q-bank for extra qs. but review course of Helen Feuer was really helpful and complete. Kaplan course review doesn't have infection control as I heard from people who took both kaplan and feuer! and that's why I did feuer for lectures and kaplan for qs. wish you luck, don't scared, just belief on yourself and study hard.

saunders 3rd edition vs 4th edition??
Hi, Congrats on pinning and .... I believe stick on your own one, they can not change any subjects, b/c heart is still heart, kidney is still the same, right? they just change the color of purple to yellow! I had the 3rd one, too and I checked the 4th one, they add some animated picture and change the color. So I studied with my 3rd ed. one. don't you want to take any review course? if you want I would say " Helen feuer". Wish you luck, Beejee RN :)

Undergoing emotional stress...
Hi there, I'm sorry that you failed. Just be strong and move on, take some days off and start again, Saunders is really good, but I recommend "Helen Feuer" review course. do questions and take your note, Don't give up. Just know that you are not the only person that failed! I failed first time, too. but 2 months later, I passed. I did it, so you can do it, be strong and focus on studying. have hope. My prays are with you.

October 2008 Nclex--rn Test Taker---come On In
Hi there, I just want to tell you that you are the only one who knows where you are standing, right? NCLEX, RN is not just test taking strategies... it's base on knowledge, I mean they never ask you what does colostomy mean? but you have to know about it, how to care, what kind of feces you see if it's on L side or R side or... you know what I mean?? That's why I say it's base on knowledge. Since you have a plan to take NCLEX on October you have a plenty of time to manage. I recommend you to start with the review course of " Helen Feuer ", it's brilliant. While studying feuer, have Anatomy and physiology for dummies on the other hand and dictionary English to your language in front of you( that's what I did b/c I 'm a student with English as a second language!!). Study those lectures, memorize them and connect them to each other, try to understand, like if you know what is the job of the liver ( form the book of A&P for dummies) Think about when you have liver dysfunction. when reading about each topic (like heart ) try to study medications for that topic. in feuer they mention just the name of some, you have to memorize those medications name, S/E and so on ( in Saunders book I found) after each topic that you mastered, try to do Qs and read the rationals, Saunders are really good for learning qs and rationals ( I did both cd and book), I believe you can do it for may be 2 months or 3 months. beginning of August when you feel kind of know every things, start doing Qs more and take a note from the qs that you got wrong or even the one's that you got wright but by chance. Start eliminate answer choices by giving rationals in your mind, if you don't know what is the rational for deleting it, find it and write it down in your notebook and please classified your notebook, make your own chapters, one is for heart, one is for Adrenal, one for Diabetes and one for Blood transfusion and so on, every night read those rationals that you wrote in your note book. Now I believe you are ready for just doing Qs, Cram- exam book is really good and it has 1250 qs close to real one(NCLEX), lots of priority. and kaplan Q-banks are helpful. and be strong and believe in yourself. You are ready for exam, don't forget that those qs you get them wrong at home will be right in NCLEX! and That's our goal, right?? That's what I did, I start On January and I took my exam on April 30th. in 4 months. Hope it's helpful for you... Good luck, 1 day RN!! with an engineering background and English as a second language. :)

That's why I say it's base on knowledge. if you need to know about topics of all 4 major ( peds, maternity, med/surg and psych) I recommend you take the review course " Helen Feuer " it's brilliant. then study those lectures. and then when you feel kind of know every things, start doing Qs, cram- exam book is really good and it has 1250 qs close to real one, lots of priority. and kaplan Q-banks are helpful. Hope it's helpful for you... Good luck

waiting for my test result!
Lovegood, I'm so sorry to hear that. Just get the weekend off, and start studying again, and just DON'T GIVE UP. You can do it just like me! every single day before starting studying say " I will pass, I can do it" it is really work for your day and you can focus more than you think on topics. I did focus on Helen Feuer for studying and for qs : kaplan just Q-banks and Davis just CD and sounders just CD and I do recommend you Cram exam book. it included 1000 qs very close to one you got in the exam. Please don't feel that you are the only one, I failed first time, too. Good luck, if you want the ISBN of cram exam or others,Please let me know, Beejee
