OCC - 2010 applicants / 2011 ADN prospective students

Hey everyone! Im back for my second application into the ADN program at OCC ::sigh:: As I did in the thread I created last year, I am creating a new one for all those applying to the nursing progam for next fall. Lets keep in touch and keep one another updated. Good luck guys!!! :)

Uh oh! Whosurdaddy has me so nervous. I'm ready to form my study group RIGHT NOW! Lol. Seriously though, whose taking the Wednesday pharmacology this summer????

Really?I faxed and mailed my papers yesterday. Had to be extra sure they received it. Lol. Maybe we can keep in touch once we're informed of our sections. :)

I took my papers to HL in person, and it felt anticlimatic, just as when I turned my application in. Lol Don't know why I was expecting fanfare or something.

My feeling is that if changes are made it will be a gradual change...over 3-4 years.Not something abrupt from one year to the next. Either way, Good Luck!

Actually the time I was there tehy accepted students by the date of their last completed pre-req and those that were a priority 1 student but didn't make the cut had a reserved seat for the following year. This had been the procedure sine the 80's when my aunt attended. I took 1 year cause because of having a child went back to do my app for the program and she told me they had changed the admission procedure completely and that admission was now based only on GPA and no longer doing the reserved seat fro teh following year if you didn't make it the firt time. So I don't think it would happen again but it most definately can happen that fast. Believe me I walked out like I was hit with a bulldozer and drove home crying not knowing what to do or how to procede.

Just wanted to add, none of my posts by any means are written on here to put down OCC :) It jjust had bad luck teh way everything happened but it all worked out for me anyhow so I just wanted to say that so they are not misunderstood. Especially with all teh excitement I'm sure you guys are feeling; always remind yourself of how you felt now because it will help you get through any hard times in the program :)

Hey mocha latte i chose wednesday afternoon as my first choice too! I went in today and turned in my forms..although i did get lost! Haha it was my first time there

iluvpatho- that is what scares me the most. That they will change the admissions procedure for the admitting class of fall 2012......I am so close I'll be ******.

occ2012- you should have gotten your letter by now. I got mine yesterday. If you don't get your letter today, I would call the nursing department.
