I am wondering if there is a weight requirement for nurses in Illinois. Is an obese nurse hirable?
Wow you made me hungry Hahahaha seriously though the treadmill is the best bang for your buck! I use the Nike app to track all my runs and stay motivated. Here's my total miles ran to date!
An app? What is that?
I have a Samsung 4. Not trading up or over. I was not happy about having to trade up to the S-4.
(I just asked my son how this app works and he says you have to buy a certain kind of shoe - a Nike Free Run - and you sinc the shoes with your phone . . . ummm, I'm definitely NOT this tech savvy and I'm not buying pricey shoes either).
We have a yellow lab - he isn't good on a leash. Pulls too hard, won't heel.
(My son just said "He does heel!! You just aren't mean enough!).
Sigh . . .

The Nike shoe pod (tracker) is optional. The phone app uses your built-in GPS. I run in Brooks! Nikes don't fit me correctly.
Edited to add: the app works without the shoe pod only if you run outside. On the treadmill you need the shoe pod to track runs with the app.
Actually in my field of nursing (aeromedical) we have a strict weight policy, BMI cannot be >30. This is done because of the helicopter's weight and balance requirements as well as the mechanics of working in tight quarters. Most do not like it but it's the price we pay for safety. This stupid six pack though makes my stomach look like a washboard
Wow, I'm a little heavy and my BMI isn't even over 30!
I can relate, I have two treadmills (long story) used to hate running on them or running overall but last winter forced me indoors and I got used to it. I watch tv, read, etc. on it. It's the single most effective time efficient way to stay fit and heart healthy. I do 3 miles almost every day, nothing crazy.
Twice the clothes storage space.
Re: the BMI calculation based solely on height and weight: yeah, I've always disagreed with that, because weight isn't simply whether you're 'overweight' or not. Someone who has more muscle weighs more, as SleeepyRN points out. Another example is my own family. My dad and my oldest brother had relatively skinny legs, while my other brother and I have more average legs... which obviously weigh more than skinny legs, but it doesn't mean we're overweight just because of that.

The shoe pod is optional for indoors runs too. You have to wear your phone when running and the app uses data from the accelerometer. Another way is to manually enter the distance ran and the time on the app after you're done. I love to be able to quantify my efforts, helps motivate me :)
