NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Published

Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?

Here's my stats:

Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Physio: A-

Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Chem for health sciences: C+

Nutrition: A

Stats: C

Lifespan dev: B

Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

for sure!!! is nyu your top school?

It is! I'm only applying one other so if I don't get in this round, I'll probably do EMT training, get more experience, then apply to NYU again. What about you?

yeah that's actually what i am thinking..EMT is best experience clinicaly wise. And yeah! I applied to stonybrook hastily before knowing how actually strict is to get int here so i got rejected lol, looking at rochester and mercy too..but i am thinking of other schools but i dont want to leave ny haha

I haven't applied to any other NY schools even though I REALLY don't want to leave. Considering applying for Mt. Sinai's program but I'm missing an Ethics course so I might do that if NYU rejects me. I'm also applying to Drexel - sadly requires a move but it's only 11 months

if you guys applied to nyu then you may as well apply to columbia. although, your app will be for next year’s class since the deadline for this year pst already.

Oh, yes! You're right! I do have the MDE program in mind if my current round of applications falls through for any reason since the prerequisites are essentially the same. Thank you for the reminder!

what did stony brook require? and did you apply for their bsn or accelerated? sb seems very strict on their acceptance policies

I don't think they start until the March 1st deadline.

SAME. I'd love to know how many typically apply vs. get accepted.

Did you guys send you transcripts directly to NYU or thru common app? When I called they said to send them direct but now my common app is saying I am missing transcripts
