Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

To have equipment and not allow nurses wear it, or not allowing nurses to wear their own safety equipment. Not to start a debate but it makes you wonder. If the hospitals are not protecting the nurses currently working, what makes you think that they’ll protect us?
you are absoloutely right LOL. I have many friends and family who are RNs. they are super disrespected even though they do the most work. this pandemic emphasized to me another reason why I have leaned towards public health nursing or psych. many nurses are badly mistreated when *** the fans this is a reality many people need to realize. It's A NIGHTMARE what is happening my sister shakes driving into work and she been a nurse for 5 years.
honestly when I finish school I want to do ER or ICU for one and half tops and switch. just doing ER because best experience to have. never wanted to do med surge or anything like that.
I cant say that I agree with them not allowing people to speak to members of the media, but at the same time, I don't think there is a single hospital in the country that could have prepared for the surge of critically ill patients that are coming in. This is really a once in a lifetime thing that no one could have ever imagined it would get this bad. I believe that once all is said and done and the chaos calms a bit that hospitals EVERYWHERE will be mandated to change their protocols to prepare for this.

Oh yes! Definitely! I guess what I’m trying to say is that in order to help the sick you must protect your line of defense and is not being done. Yes hospitals maybe or maybe not was prepared for this (hence the Ebola virus of 2014, that’s why I say maybe) but it shouldn’t give you the right to not protect your staff or deter them from talking to the press or public of what is really going on. Also a thing that I have noticed, according to the press, is that it seems that adults are dying from the virus but they make no mention of infants and children. Or am I reading at the wrong places?

I’m an essential worker (medical provider), I’ve read this article and much more considering I have to keep up with standards. It’s still just not something that would deter me. I hope something positive comes out of this whole mess like better hospital standards, organized unions, a case for Medicaid/Medicare to be extended, etc.
Our whole healthcare system is messed up, this whole PPE situation was just the cherry on top, so to speak.
If you are having second thoughts, this is the perfect time to weigh the pros and cons, and see what nursing means to you.

Oooh, okay! This thread is for the Accelerated BSN option which is why we might all have some different information from one another for applying ?
@marquisdelafayette Yea! I kinda figured the info and requirements would be somewhat different. NYU sent me an email to send it all transcripts. I'm having a hard time getting a hold of someone from my HS to get transcript copies. I emailed NYU to see if I could just send a photo copy of my HS diploma but I haven't heard back from anyone yet.

I already have an associate degree. Maybe that’s why it may have not requested it on the application.
