NYU ABSN Spring 2020

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlyn and I was recently accepted into NYU Meyers as a Second Degree (non-accelerated) student. I'll be finishing up my prerequisite courses at NYU this Fall 2019 and will then begin the ABSN curriculum with, hopefully, some of you all in the Spring 2020 cohort!

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone to communicate on as you all work on getting your applications in ?

Are acceptances and rejections getting sent out at the same time?

I called NYU and they said you should be receiving an answer 4-6 weeks after the deadline?

Did you guys receive the same information?

Of course! Gpa is 3.9, healthcare experience includes, volunteer work with the Alzheimer’s community, home attendant, and shadowing. And just for reference, I applied Sept. 30th.

For those currently finishing pre reqs do you guys have a red x on your checklist? Or is it a green check?

Congrats! Did you just find out today? Or did you not check last week and it was from then?

I had a red x on my checklist for a missing transcript at a school where I am currently enrolled in a pre req and I received my acceptance yesterday. I was really nervous that it was holding up my decision and called admissions a couple of times to make sure they weren't waiting for any additional information but they reassured me that it was okay so I wouldn't worry. I would just make sure they are aware that you are in progress with the class. Hope this helps!

Congrats Olivia! Did you apply ad a regular transfer of ABSN? Also please share stats and when you applied.

Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted on here yet but Ive been reading all the comments. I was accepted yesterday into NYU!! My overall gpa is a 3.5, with my prereqs being 3.6. I have healthcare experience as a PCT in the emergency department for over a year.

Wondering what you all are planning to do for housing while we complete the program??

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! I'm Alexandra and I'll be starting the ABSN this spring as well (I'm currently at NYU finishing pre-requisites). I'm still fairly new to NYC and NYU in general, but happy to help with any questions about the program, living situations, etc.

Thank you! I did not apply as a transfer student, I just didn't take nutrition in undergrad so I had to take it this fall. I applied in early September before the priority review deadline.

My overall GPA was 3.4 and as for pre reqs I had As and Bs but one C from chem my freshmen year which I really thought was going to hurt my chances. I have 2 years of clinic research experience when I was in undergrad and then I have spent the past year or so working as a medical scribe for a primary care physician. I also have experience as an EMT.

Do you guys think it is possible to get into the program with a 3.3 cumulative GPA?
