Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlyn and I was recently accepted into NYU Meyers as a Second Degree (non-accelerated) student. I'll be finishing up my prerequisite courses at NYU this Fall 2019 and will then begin the ABSN curriculum with, hopefully, some of you all in the Spring 2020 cohort!

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone to communicate on as you all work on getting your applications in ?

I'm Alexandra and I'm in the same boat as Kaitlyn. I will be moving from Orange County, California and hope to meet some incoming classmates as the Spring 2020 application cycle gets underway.

Hi Kaitlin and Alexandra,

I am considering applying to the Spring 2020 cohort. I was just on their website today and noticed that the priority deadline is September 15. Do you know if this is correct? Other schools have had it way earlier so want to be sure I don't miss anything!

Hi there!

That date sounds correct. You can always call their admissions office to double check - in my experience they have been very helpful and responsive. The priority deadline for fall was March 1 which felt a little late in my mind as well, so maybe they just review apps later than other schools!

Hey there! Yeah, I agree with Alexandra - call if you have questions about anything, they are super friendly and helpful. And otherwise, NYU seems to be one of the latest schools to complete their application reviews and send out decisions.

Just for context, some applicants for Fall 2019 are still waiting to hear back and may wait as late as June 15th to hear a decision!

Otherwise, good luck with your application process and if you can, I would recommend attending an info session because they share good application pointers!

Hey, does anyone know if NYU Accelerated Nursing Programs accepts courses from Portage Learning? Thanks in advance!

Check their website in regards to online classes. They do not want any science coursework online. Courses like nutrition and pysch should be ok, but still double check with them about portage for the non science prereqs.

I wrote to admissions and was informed they do accept nutrition and developmental psych from portage.

I'm looking at the common application but cannot find the section where the personal statement question prompt is located or where it should be uploaded. Anybody see this info?

Hey everyone, I am applying on the common app as a transfer student because there wasn't an option for "second degree applicant". Did everyone else do the same?

Are you sure you selected the right program? Technically you are applying as a transfer student but to the accelerated program or non-accelerated whichever one. But on the application (CommonApp) under "Program Materials," it should show "Meyers College of Nursing 2nd Bachelor's Degree (Spring). Goodluck!
