NYU ABSN Spring 2020

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlyn and I was recently accepted into NYU Meyers as a Second Degree (non-accelerated) student. I'll be finishing up my prerequisite courses at NYU this Fall 2019 and will then begin the ABSN curriculum with, hopefully, some of you all in the Spring 2020 cohort!

Just wanted to start a thread for everyone to communicate on as you all work on getting your applications in ?

Yes. Unfortunately. Room and board is estimated to be 9,000$ per term. The cost of the program without room and board is around $116,000 for all 4 terms.

That's insane. Is this confirmed? I got into other programs that were 70s and 90k w room and board and I thought that was bad.

Yeah I just looked and for one year (2 semesters) it’s about $50,000. Room and board is $18,000 also.

For those of you who are going to the program, are you thinking of boarding at NYU or finding off campus housing?

Hi everyone! I started in the fall at NYU as a second-degree transfer to finish up some prereqs (really happy with the program so far!) and I will be starting sequence (aka the actual ABSN part of classes) this spring with you all! If you have any questions that I can answer based on my limited experience at NYU so far I'm so happy to help and look forward to meeting you all!!! (btw this thread was a huge help to me when I was applying but I never made an allnurses account, so happy that I can finally give back)

And if you're just here lurking like I used to, debating whether or not to apply and wondering if you're good enough...I think you should just go for it and apply!!

Hey! I applied for the second degree transfer for spring. How long did you wait to hear back last semester and how was your process?

I submitted my application early March and I heard back end of May...it was pretty late in the process but I had a study abroad transcript that they kept saying they didn't want or need, but for some reason it would not go off of my application checklist...so after a lot of phone calls admissions was finally able to take it off and I think a few days later I got accepted--so if you have an issue like that be sure to follow up!

Do acceptances and rejections go out at the same time?

Did anyone get rejected so far?

Or do they wait until the end to release rejections?
