NYU ABSN Spring 2020
Hi, unfortunately the financial aid office found that I didn’t have financial need and for that reason I only got about 2k. Also, it didn’t help that I’m taking a part-time schedule to finish out the last of my preclinical sequence. In regards to the schedule, it’s only created for you, once you are in the clinical sequence. Computerized and completely random to give everyone a schedule that’s as fair as possible. If you’re just a transfer you’ll select your own schedule with guidance from the advising office who will reach out to you soon.

NYU Fall 2018
Hi Marie, I’m not sure what they give. I have heard that they give everyone a small scholarship anywhere from $2,500 to $4,000. On their financial aid website they have a number of other scholarships you can apply for. Good luck!

NYU ABSN Spring 2020
Hi, I’ve been watching this topic for a little while now and I just wanted to share my story for those of you who have found yourself in the position to have to choose another school over waiting for a decision from NYU. I am a mom of two (who wants at least one more child and a career), I applied for Fall 2018 at NYU only and got a rejection two months later. Naturally, I was disappointed and convinced myself waiting a year to reapply was absolutely out of the question (at that point I had my son and wanted another baby because my son was getting older and the age gap was growing). Not to mention, I am actually just a transfer student, so prolonging the start of a nursing program would mean also making little to zero progress on any kind of bachelors degree at all. My age doesn’t help either as I’m just a couple of years shy of thirty and with all the social pressures of having it “together” by now, I feel like I’m doing less than enough. But I waited and reapplied nonetheless. If accepted, I plan to attend no matter what my financial aid package is. If not, I will finally take a hint (at least for my first bachelors, can’t speak for the second lol). I guess the point I’m trying to make is, if NYU is YOUR dream school and you can’t imagine that any other school will provide the platform and education that NYU will, why not stick it out. Sure the process seems unfair and almost a little inconsiderate, so much so that maybe their admissions process needs some work, I totally get that! But can you imagine how many students applied? Or that there is a possibility that their process is like this to give us all as fair of a chance as possible at attending? My question to you is, can you really put a timeline on YOUR DREAMS?! I’ll admit, my stomach sank a bit when I saw that my checklist was still there this morning, I’m there with you! I don’t want to offend anyone, just wanted to share. More than anything, I hope this helps anyone that’s feeling frustrated or confused about what to do. Happy Friday and stay positive!

No worries! I found it was really helpful. My advice would be to think of some things you would like to ask tonight and write them down. At the end, they give you an opportunity to ask questions that they maybe didn’t answer.

I didn’t know there was one. I did a virtual info session before but not a tour. Where can I learn more? I submitted Sept. 30th, hopefully because we submitted before the priority deadline we’ll hear back sooner!! Just wishful thinking. Lol.

NYU Spring 2020
Hi all ?? Just wanted to start a thread for transfers to go through the waiting game together! Absn feel free to comment also ? I am reapplying as a regular transfer, got a no in fall of 2018 ? Hoping I’ll have better luck this time around. I want to be a nurse so bad! I worked really hard on my essays and applied priority. I would list stats but honestly, I’m certain now it’s not what they look for. Wishing all my fellow Spring 2020 applicants good luck!!!!!!!!
