I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

please keep in mind those are just the numbers for new york state(schools federally investigated as well) and everyone was sent an email asking to surrender their license within a certain amount of time and they will not face any dicisplanry action. ( NYS is working on a honor and good faith system ) and those who don't NYS BON will eventually revoke and those people will face diciplinary actions that wil be noted federally and listed on NURSYS/Pearson Vue and it will be even harder for them to ever persue a career in nursing
Who told u that. There not planning on doing anything, if they were they would of acted and they also don't want a nurses crises.
If that was the case why would they give them a chance to go back to school. That says alot, nothing will be done

I went to school in FL as well the school isn't on the "list" I passed my NCLEX PN in June I have yet to receive my Ny license. My family moved to MD I requested for NY to send my passing score since they're not releasing my license I was told it's under review. Will o even be able to get the passing score letter? I know someone mentioned to reach out to FL to retake the exam, I don't mind doing that because I know I went to school but how will I go about contacting FL do I just tell them to allow me to retake the exam?? Please any suggestions would help. I work as a MA now and my job will be happy to hire me as an LPN but I feel stuck. We really don't know when this investigation will be done and I'm sure it can take maybe years. If someone can tell me how to reach FL BON to retest or shoud I fill out a FL application ?

Many states, if not all of them, make disciplinary actions public. Maybe when someone looks up the individual license or via a newsletter. This would be like PA's newsletter published on their site to me.
https://www.dos.pa.gov/ProfessionalLicensing/VerifyaProfessional/DisciplinaryActions/Pages/default.aspx
Good luck with that NY will never own up to their mistakes. They always play victim even as short nurses as they are. Wait till a crisis happens and you'll see them all over the news but I'm sure the ones making the decision will be nowhere near to help. If they pass the exam why not release the scores NY didn't pay Pearson Vue the applicant did
@Star2022 posted this. Let's all call this number and get try to get some answers.

Because all of these schools except for 2 are from Florida the NYS BON( the ones who make the rules) have stated any present-day school not listed as accredited from this list ( https://mqa-internet.doh.state.fl.us/MQASearchServices/NursingPrograms) is on hold.
Any closed schools in Florida are on hold b/c we need to investigate why the school closed.
To be honest, calling 518-474-3817 ext 280 is for the processing unit all they are responsible for is the processing of documents, and are told what to do and say.
Who you should be calling is the NYS Nursing Board the ones who are making these rules and decisions. Maybe that would put a fire under people to move along with the process and decision-making. Email: [email protected], Phone: 518-474-3817, Press 1 then ext. 120, Fax: 518-474-3706
Or try this email [email protected] which is the recommended email for people to use who went to these fraudulent schools
That's what I don't understand and no one has yet to answer what's up with holding the scores hostage? This is a national exam release the danm scores to wherever we want to go. NY always felt entitled to people things anyway. If I paid for my exam and passed what makes it right for you to hold on to it. First of NY have the Att so what's the issue. They just never like to be wrong but of course you have the ones collecting a check from the board talking about we're playing the blaming games. How about they go after the people who scammed and still hold a license.
Your state can request NCLEX scores? I didn't know that was possible.
I passed my NCLEX in April and I havent been able to get a licenses number to able to endorse my license back to Florida. My school is on HOLD but its not listed on any of the schools mentioned. I am at lost for words
You guys are in a rush to be licensed talking about suing and the school you went to is under investigation won't benefit you because the employer won't hire you because of the school you went to even though there is no fraud or any type of disciplinary action on your license. I was offered a job at a hospital and they rescinded the offer because I went to Carleen this has happened multiple times.

I understand that, but it's really frustrating because all these rules came out of nowhere. My school was not on the list, and I worked very hard to pass my exit and NCLEX on first try. So it's not like me and my classmates just purchased a degree but we are all in this limbo because of other scam programs. My program was approved and has been around for decades.
