I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details
Category : EX Schedule A
USCIS receipt : April 2004
Processing Center : Vermont
I-140 approved : October 2004
NVC case number : MNL2004813XXX
NVC forwarded packet 3 : April 5, 2005
Packet 3 sent back to NVC : May 3, 2005
NVC case completed : May 16, 2005
Consular Interview : August 29, 2005
Visa received : ???
Date of entry in the US :???
GC receive : ????
I hope you can also post here your details interview experience.
God bless!
Did you pay the visa fee bill of your family?
The queue for the embassy interview is about two years.............if they were not in the US with you. This is what I am trying to tell you, it has nothing to do with the retoregoression, but everything to do with those that are waiting ahead of your family for the same thing. And there are thousands.
thanks all for your nice suggestions. I-140 processing time is almost the same for three service centers right now, but not in last year after the lifting of retrogression. there is nothing wrong with the file, attorney or petitioner but processing delay. By the time the documentarily qualified file was finished in NVC, no visa numbers!
Funny thing to add in is that I have a few friends that had their petitions submitted just before the cur-off date in the US and they already have their receipts and numbers, in just a few weeks. It depends on how correctly that things were filed and nothing more. And this also was for someone overseas as well going thru consular processing........just a couple of weeks and they have their receipt.
For any case that has taken a year or so to complete, there were issues with the file, I have seen it over and over again. Not a delay at the processing center.
I agree with Suzanne. Like in my case, my I-140 took three months before i got the approval due to some reasons. I got an email from the USCIS which follows:
Receipt Number: SRC0615151072
Application Type: I140 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status:
On June 2, 2006, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or
information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional
material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is
required, or if 30 days have passed and you have not received the notice.
Please contact the service center where you submitted your application

The USCIS also informed my lawyer regarding this. Then my lawyer complied all the needed materials/documents. After one month and 5 days, the USCIS notified me again with the following message:
Receipt Number: SRC0615151072

Current Status:
On July 7, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence
or information. However because preliminary processing was complete,
the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in
this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can
use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done.

Six days after the USCIS received my lacking documents/materials, I got another email/notification:

mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice,
you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address,

Exactly, it is always that something is missing. Many times the nurse has no idea of any of it as they have given permission to the attorney to act on their behalf, or even the agency.
But the agency never states anything and blames it on immigraiton, when usually it was because of them.
And just an FYU, the dates that are listed are not written in stone, we all know people that got approval well ahead of those processing dates that are posted.

i got stucuuuck for sooooo loooong and everytime i ask my petitioner, i am only told that i am unlucky enough to have my papers at uscis assigned to a meticulous consul. well, :chuckle my case has been approved anyway, but the question now is how long would they put me in limbo again :roll.
please help ......my dates of filling and nor (sept.28 & oct.11, 2005) differ compared to the rest of you here who got the same. which date would i consider for the retrogression cut-off-date? i need clarification. thanks and thanks and thanks.:)

i think the problem is not with the consul, it is with your lawyer or petitioner. they should have checked your documents for many times before forwarding them to the uscis to avoid any delays. sometimes, if the consul will see any doubtful information with your papers, they usually ask for additional evidence. the financial stability of your petitioner is also a big factor which checks by the uscis and sometimes causes the delay of your papers. there are lot of factors that you need to consider why it took more than a year for you to have your approval at the uscis.
do you have your approval notice with you? you can find your priority date there. your pd will be your basis for the cut-off date. from uscis, your papers will be forwarded to the nvc. pls do communicate with your employer every now and then. :)
Hi Rep, I was told yesterday that instruction payment for the visas for my family is included in POcket 4 which the call center agent told I will receive most probably early december or just before theyre time limit of 120 days w/c falls on Jan 7, 2007. Does it matter if I don't pay right away my family visa fee.?
Did you pay the visa fee bill of your family?

I would image until you pay they will not do anything with the visa paperwork so nothing will get done
