I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details
Category : EX Schedule A
USCIS receipt : April 2004
Processing Center : Vermont
I-140 approved : October 2004
NVC case number : MNL2004813XXX
NVC forwarded packet 3 : April 5, 2005
Packet 3 sent back to NVC : May 3, 2005
NVC case completed : May 16, 2005
Consular Interview : August 29, 2005

Date of entry in the US :???

I hope you can also post here your details interview experience.
God bless!
if you are the one whose I-140 got stuck in one service center for 9 months, there is nothing wrong with your file but a precessing delay in some service center, while somebody filed half a year later than you got the visa which was suppose to be given to those who filed earlier, what do you think? you still feel it is reasonable to let the later one get the visa?I don't have any resentment to any applicants who got the visa, everybody tried so hard on their way. but remember, people are created equal!
priority date is the most fair and square way USCIS and NVC can balance the visa allocation up till now.
happylearning, do you mean your I-140 took 9 months to be approved? Maybe you should ask your lawyer about it. Maybe something got messed up along the way. I know someone (a doctor-RN) whose I-140 has been filed last Aug 2005 and until now has not been approved. Upon consultation with his lawyer, he learned that his history of overstaying in the US a decade ago was probably the cause of the delay or pending disapproval. Bottomline is, if something is not right or is taking so long, there must be a reasonable cause.
With regards to PD, I believe being documentarily qualified is the most important thing for NVC. It doesn't matter if your PD is 2001, if you don't become documentarily qualified, you will never get to Packet 4.
I have to agree with the above poster, if it is taking months to get your initial petition thru, then there were issues with the documents. And then there are the peititions that get thru, but the visa bill is never paid in a timely fashion; that should be blamed on who ever is responsible for paying the bill, not the other nurses that got visas first.
For every petition that took months, there are reasons why it took so long, that is not the norm. It is usually agency or attorney related. At least every single one that I have seen has been caused by one or both of these without submitting the proper documents.
Yes, i agree with the above statements. There might be something wrong with your documents or some delays in paying the bills during the process. why dont you try asking your lawyer or agency regarding these matters? I am sure they can answer all the things/questions that bother you.
I applied in Cebu September last year, it was a direct hiring though my employer is connected with one of the agencies here in the Philippines ( i think it is a requirement). My first application in USCIS was denied according to my lawyer ( i failed to ask the reasons behind). So, instead of getting a PD before October 2005, my PD now is April 2006. It took 3 months before I got my approval in USCIS. My case in the NVC was completed October 16, 2006. I am sure I could not get any slot for the embassy interview because of my PD. Well, im quite devastated, but I am sure I can leave this country in God's time. So, just keep on praying and be optimistic.:)
Thank you for the nice note.If your first petition was denied, it is usually because the attorney did not submit all of the required documents that needed to be provided by the agency.
Are you a direct hire with a hospital, or an agency?
I was hired directly by the hospital. But during their visit here in the Philippines, they had an agency with them (Philippine based). Thank you....:)
In my case, I have direct communication with my lawyer. If I have some questions/inquiries, I emailed her directly and got a response at the same day or after couple of days. Before, I used to email the HR officer of my employer or call my agency here in the Philippines, but they gave me the email add of my attorney to answer all my questions with regards to my petition.
Hello REP and Suzanne,
I am already here in the San Jose California, USA. I took the AOS route. My lawyer filed the my and my family papers (my family is still in the Philippines on April 6,2006. Approved I-140 and I-1485 May 6,2006. Got EAD and advance parole also May 6,2006. Got my green last August 18,2006. My family's pocket 3 completed last September 7, 2006 they have same priority date as mine May 6, 2006. Unfortunately my lawyer is charging me another $1000.00 to help us process the papers in US Embassy in Manila, (my lawyer is based in L.A. Ca) but I didn't agree since is was stated in our contract that consular process is included, so to make the story short my lawyer abandoned us, so I am left alone to finished this process. I called US embassy in Manila they told me to wait 4 months(Jan 7,2007) for them to give a concrete answer. My family case number is MNL2006xxx021 EX priority date is May 6, 2006. Is my family affected by retrogression even though I have my green card now? By the way I called NVC they don't have my family file with them.

You can file the visa processing on your own without the help of the lawyer. And your family will be affected by the retrogression. I am sorry.
Hi Rep,
Thank you for the quick response? The US embassy in Manila told us not to pay yet the visa processing fee ($480 each )for my family according to call agent I spoke with. I find it strange, since what I am reading in this forum, they paid before Pocket 3? Any comment. Is this the reason that the processing of my family's visa is so slow?
