I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details

thank you very much!! :> how long will they process my papers for packet 3 before the medical and interview?
From USCIS, your papers will be forwarded to the NVC. The NVC will assign a case number for you. Then, the NVC will send a request for fee bill to your empoyer/immigration lawyer. Your employer will pay the said bill. After that, the NVC will send another request for your packet 3 (DS230 forms, NBI clearance, etc...) which will be addressed to your lawyer. Once your lawyer has submitted your packet 3 to the NVC, give them 2-3 weeks to complete your case (case to case basis). You may contact the NVC through email or by calling them to confirm the status of your case. After the completion of your packet 3, your papers will remain at the NVC because of the retrogression. In short, no medical appointment and embassy interview until the retrogression is lifted.
Hi, my Visa category of schedule A was replaced with E3 because there is no more VISA allocation for the latters' category. Since E3 processing per visa bulletin is still at august 2002, what does this mean? That I have to wait till 2002-2006 listings to be accomodated before I will be served or If retrogression is over in a month or two ..... an automatic readjust of E3 to SheduleA will take effect? Any idea? Thanks

**I guess, once the retrogression is lifted, they will automatically readjust our category to Schedule A.:)
LAME DUCK CONGRESS COMES UP LAME FOR H-1B AND IMMIGRANT VISA/ RETROGRESSION RELIEF
The 109th Congressional session has concluded without enacting legislation to increase H-1B or employment-based immigrant visas. Successful immigration related legislation included:
- An extension of the Conrad 30 program providing J-1 waivers for physicians
- A "re-authorization" of the H-1C category
- Legislation authorizing P visa eligibility for certain athletes rather than the current problematic H-2B visa category
Efforts by Senators Cornyn and Hutchinson to increase H-1B visas and immigrant visas for nurses (respectively) were unsuccessful. Accordingly, U.S. employers will remain unable to obtain new H-1B workers until October 2007. Additionally, foreign nationals in the green card process will continue to face lengthy delays in obtaining immigrant visas. Most notably, U.S. hospitals and other healthcare facilities recruiting foreign Registered Nurses and Physical Therapists remain temporarily unable to obtain immigrant visas unless or until Congress authorizes additional immigrant visas for Schedule A workers or eliminates Schedule A workers from the visa quota. Advocacy efforts continue.
