Thought it would be fun / interesting to do a threat of one to two line facts about things in nursing . .
I'm talking educational little tidbits that people may have forgotten / never learned in school etc. Everyone can always use a little refresher.
Ex. Never push IV Lasix faster than 10mg/min.
If someone is on Tube Feeding, there HOB must be elevated.
That helps so much to get them to the top of the bed. I wish I knew about that when I was a newer nurse and used that instead of speerating my shoulder.
aw, i know nrsang...
and sorry about your shoulder.
but whenever i see the trendelenburg, i immediately visualize smushed lungs.
if i'm not supervising, the techs KNOW to do this as quickly as possible.

The vapor is "chlorine gas" (think chemical weapons ala World War I).cheers,
Reminds me of the show "Emergency" in the 1970's where I learned NEVER to mix bleach and ammonia . ...

Always find out if your pt is taking viagra before giving nitro! I always have fluids ready just in case I might need them.
A easy way to put ted hose on a pt is...take the plastic package they come in & put it on their foot....slide your hose over the package then pull the package out of the opening in the toe.....works great.
