I find this interactive graphic rather interesting and fun. Play around and compare to where you stand in the "Social Class."

I am a tech, and found this interesting. In occupation, I was in the 70 percentile, in education, 69th. But, in income I was in the 18th percentile and in wealth, 25.
I will have to run my husbands. He has similar education, but gets paid so much more. He is not in healthcare.

Ok- 91% for education and only 50th for salary and about 30 something for wealth.
Not a good thing.
I'm not an RN yet, but a social worker in managment for the same health care provider for over 10 years and I still make less than a RN starting salary would be. So it's looks like my 4 year degree- got me nowhere fast- so I'm going to try for the 2 year RN degree and see if I can't double my salary in the next three years. The sad thing is I bet I can do it. It's to bad because I enjoy my current position and I'm good at it. But taking care of mentaly retarded people and running group homes just doesn't pay.

Huh. We're in the middle.
Strange, but hubby is a Minister, and is rated as "low". I guess cause he doesn't get paid a regular salary?

I think that was designed to boost our self esteem. I'm considered upper class but I dont consider myself to be so. I think I am upper middle class. I consider upperclass families to be in the >$500,000 a year range after taxes. That family could easily be millionaires.
I would sacrifice 4 years staying in the ghetto, driving a cheap car, neglecting the finer things in life just to be a millionaire!!!

Tell that to the dishwashers. :uhoh21: :)

The scale is designed to rate where you fit in from the bottom fifth to the top fifth. :)
To add: It is also known as "Income Quintile"
Mean Household Income

In Current Dollars
Lowest quintile $10,136
Second quintile $25,468
Third quintile $42,629
Fourth quintile $66,839
Highest quintile $145,970

Says I'm upper-middle. I'm surprised, it sure doesn't feel like it. Guess I need to take more time to count my blessings.

These nationwide measurements are not accurate because they don't take into account the area you live in. $60,000 is not upper middle class in CA or any other area that has large cities (There is a lot more wealth in LA than all of montana)
