I am SHOCKED by this nursing student's response to someone asking how to do illegal drugs on Yahoo Answers website. What sort of nursing student (A student about to graduate) would say these things? She could kill someone and she is going against the Nursing Code of Ethics. Is there anything to stop people like this? This totally shocked me. The Nursing Student answered the following question and both question and answer are as below:
Ecstasy experts I need some help?
Ok so I smoke pot allot and last night I tried ex for the first time and im not gonna lie I liked it. So I was wondering how long should I wait in between usage? And also ive heard stuff like drink lots of water, get vitamin C and E, take some type of tablet that you can buy from the store, it makes serotonin for your body.....Is this true? What should I do so it doesn't do AS MUCH damage to me (besides stopping you smart asses)? And also what helps so the come down isn't that bad? And what kind of ex should I really look out for? Please give lots of info?
(And for all the people who don't approve, or think its stupid, who cares?!? You can all just screw off just like your opinions and thoughts. I could care less what you think :)
ANSWER (FROM A NURSING STUDENT ABOUT TO GRADUATE):
I have done ecstasy at least 13 time within the past year and I think that at least once a month is ok... I am almost graduating from a nursing school with an A average. I have had a CAT/brain scan and eveything is completely normal. I feel that if you space your rolls that you will get high easier without a tolerance and that it is safer for you body... When you space them your body has time to readjust and get hydrated and all of the vitamins that you need back into your system... I wouldn't recommend more than 3 pills in one night. I have probably taken 26 pills in the last year, and like i said A average with no side effects. Do like you have been told or ask your dealer for good advice... Oh, and listen to techno ; ) drink water but don' gulp it down! Your intracranial cavity can retain water if you do gulp... Be safe and just pay attention to your body... Stay happy with your roll... and dont be stressed when you take it! Hope this helped :)
I think the advantage of Ecstasy is supposed to be that it isn't tested on a standard drug screen. Is that true? That's what my son told me who was in the Navy at one time.
That's too bad that she has to identify herself as an almost nurse. She's probably young and doesn't realize the reality of long time possible effects of these types of drugs on the brain.
26 pills in one year can't be good. I would say that's a bit beyond occasional drug use and this person has just started making up rubbish to back up the fact that they've practically dodged a bullet in terms of not having any health effects.
Using your 'credibility' as a Nursing student to give out drug advice is just moronic. It's also the kind of misinformed passed around user to user drug advice I've heard before.
funny how they're actually researching mdma and its positive effects during therapy.
*sigh*
gotta love that dare program.
anyways, i don't think i would be telling people that i was using drugs throughout my nursing-student career, but alas, this person has. there are nursing students that are probably doing a lot worse things out there too. yes, it is frightening to think that this person might be suffering from the miserable side effects of having been drained of all your serotonin and lacking sleep (oh wait- that's all nursing students). realize also, that not all drugs deserve this absolute villification. plenty of people are recreational drug users, not abusers. i truly believe in the efforts of harm reduction (people are curious, and there will always be drugs). i do completely agree for this person to toss in that they're a nursing student with straight a's was completely toolish, though.
p.s. ecstasy would probably come up on a drug screen, it is a form of methamphetamine.
p.p.s. think about how many times you've thrown out that you're a nursing student to help validate your opinion on health, or that you're constantly asked by family and friends for advice.
Honestly, she sounds like a moron but as long as she's doing it on off hours and isn't taking care of patients under the influence it doesn't bother me all that much. Although I can't imagine being that careless...I won't even jaywalk for fear of being arrested and kicked out of my program. Apparently that's a risk she's willing to take.
I don't want any nurse or other medical professional caring for me if they are using drugs, whether they do it on the weekends or not. Nurses are held to high standards. Ecstacy harms the body. Nurses are about healing. This nurse is suggesting to someone else how to harm their body.
Nursing has changed over the years, but our high standards of character and ethics should not change. If we do this, people will not respect us or trust us.
Nurses are held to very high standards of character. We are there to help and not harm. I don't want any nurse caring for me who uses drugs or abuses alcohol, even if she / he isn't under the influence when working. It still is illegal and harms the body and this goes against what nurses are all about about. It ruins our professional reputation. It demonstrates poor judgement. It's sort of a selfish thing. For a person to risk their whole carreer over illegal drug use demonstrates how much they really value being a nurse and value their lives as well as the lives of others.
a lot of legal medications can harm the body as well...and *gasp* nurses are administering them.
i've noticed that a lot of nursing students (nnot so much actual nurses) hop on a soapbox and cite the professionalism of their career to judge others.
i believe we should individually do the best we can, be the best nurses we can be. worry less about others...

I doubt she is really a nursing student... probably someone in thier pre-reqs or something...I take my patients and nursing school very seriously! I also graduate next month. I would NEVER do anything to put my patients or my license at risk...I thought it was funny that she said she had a CT scan... Why did she have an expensive CT scan? Just for fun? Who would order that for her.... "Gee let me see if my illegal drug use is having any negative effects on me" ...
not cool man...not cool.
