Nursing and the sex industry

Published

Hello everyone,

So I'm feeling a little uneasy at the moment. I had started my CNA course and when I was about to finish I had an accident. This accident left it so that I could not work or go to school. In that time I had heard about "camming". Without putting much thought into it I signed up to a few camming sites. I figured that I could sign up for a few camming sites and if I decided that's what I was going to do then I would already have a few accounts set up. What didn't cross my mind at the time was 1099's and background checks. I never actually broadcasted myself so I never received a penny. I've read that companies aren't required to send a 1099 unless you exceed $599 but some companies send them regardless. My question is how badly do you think just signing up for these sites would effect my future in nursing? I'm hoping that I can call these sites and see if they will not send out 1099's to the IRS.

Thank you

What about camping? I like camping. Would they do a background check on camping? My aunt worked in a suburb called Canning and she's a nurse! Would that be the same!?

I had to giggle seeing another post asking about camming. If you're smart enough to be a nurse, I'd assume you'd be smart enough to know the answer yourself :sarcastic:

I can't wait to get together with my friends, sip on margaritas and tell them about what I learned on Allnurses today!!! Lol

I absolutely love that people are learning what cam girls are on a nurse website

Yet, the person using this site is an MD.

No he isn't. He doesn't have a doctorate degree, he has a bachelors degree.

So hasn't come up in his backround checks.....and younger girls traipsing into the hospital to bring him lunch...how appropriate is THAT.....double standard much?

They are certainly younger, but women, not girls. I don't know the age of any of them but none looked younger than 27 to 35 to me. They didn't wander around the hospital. Maybe they do over in the clinic where he spends most of his time I don't. I only saw them when he is in house for trauma coverage and sleeping in a call room.

(Lets hope this MD doesn't have a wife....THEN that could be cam worthy...and probably could be on the youtube or something...)

He has been a widower for more than 20 years.

And please don't tell me that he used the hospital computer to pull up his account and ya'll hung out and read it.....

Naw, we used his phone.

I was drowsy. Now, I'm wide awake after choking from laughing because of some OPs' posts. í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚í ½í¸‚

Camming. Just confirms my long-held suspicion that I lack sophistication.....I never heard of that before in my entire 55---oops, 56---years on this planet. LOL[/quote

I googled it this morning. I was clueless. I could have just asked one of my younger family members, but google is my friend.

I had a coworker who made extra $$$ doing wet tshirt and bikini contests in her off time. The DON found a reason to fire her and after she was gone stated "how are the patients supposed to take her seriously after seeing her *****" ? It was a fairly small town. It's naive to think that the publics perception of you won't affect your job. I often think of us like politicians. We're on display to a degree and inder a microscope because we have trust and power with our patients.

It could fall under an indication of moral turpitude, which BONs frown on...slippery slope,

IMO

There's a recent news story of A Police officer (Miami) who was once a stripper, Mediastar, cammer or something of the sort.....and now its back to haunt her. Unfortunately with the advent of social media things like this don't remain hidden for long.

Check out the story below

If you are a 1099 employee you do not have to work under your SSN.

You can form a DBA or Sole proprietorship and apply for an EIN and file taxes under your EIN.

This way your camming expeditions will not show under your SSN.
