What kind of Stethoscope do you have?

Embarrassed to admit I'm still using a VERY cheap one I had while in Nursing School. I'm long overdue for an upgrade. Please suggest one and let me know what you have and if you like it. And how much it costs if you don't mind sharing.

Check out http://www.allheart.com they have a ton of Stethoscopes on there.I bought a littman one from off of there and it is the best one I have found so far.

I use the Littman Cardiology III- got it when I graduated nursing school 2 years ago. A bit pricy, but totally worth it!

I currently use a Littmann cardiology scope. Littmann makes a lightweight scope which works really well too for a lot less money.

Thanks everyone. I have been looking into the Cardiology III - - glad to hear you guys have it and like it! Pricey - - yes - - I'm seeing it for $139! But if its really that good, I'll make the investment. PLus, if i ever switch out of LTC and go into, say ICU, or something, I think it would still be good there too, right?

I know this one doesn't get alot of publicity in the Littmann series, but I love it. I feel like it is more streamline than other Littmanns and I feel like I can hear a little better. It's also very convenient to only have to apply more pressure to change between hi/low pitch (bell or diaphragm. Also...why be embarrassed about using a cheapo? I know people that went through nursing school using a disposable...not the best for learning, but they are RN's just the same.

I have a littmann classic without the bell side. I find I can hear things better without the bell, and without the bell I have 2 finger holes to put my hand while holding mine.

Unless you're doing advanced studies in cardiology or pulmonology most all the ones out there do the job. You don't have to take out a second mortgage to own a stethoscope, I personally like the disposable ones...
