Hi all,

I'm having a hard time finding a watch. I have read old threads on this topic as well, but still couldn't find what I'm looking for. For clinicals I am required to have a watch with a sweeping second hand (little to no ticking?). This is really the main reason I'm having a bit of trouble. I have looked online everywhere and it seems these types of watches are extremely expensive. I also want a watch that's analog, water resistant, glows in the dark, and has military time. The band I can buy separate because I prefer no rubber, leather, or latex (for allergy purposes & leather can stain skin). Any recommendations??? I don't know if I'm being too picky, but anything with a sweeping second hand would be perfect!!!

Thank you in advance

You should go back to them and say you want to use digital. Sweeping second hand actually ticks more times per second than a regular watch so that could screw off your counts :D

I like my watches.

I just bought one from Amazon for about $16. Use the search term "casio 200H"

I buy my watches at Wall Mart. They average about $10 to $15. A good watch doesn't have to expensive. As far as military time goes you can learn it in about a day. It's not difficult.

Go to the Timex website. You can custom order a watch with a choice of faces and bands. I think they all tick though. (Takes a lickin', keeps on tickin") Also several face choices have 24 hour time on the face inside the big numbers. Just like how your car has kilometers inside the miles per hour on your speedometer.

Customize your Timex

This one, 3 color options had 24hr time written inside the main numbers. Turn the outer dial 45* and you have twice as many reference pionts for your 15 second sweep of the hand. Also every number except 3 is shown, not just 3,6,9,12. This is the 200H someone else mentioned.

That's the exact one I purchased except mine was black with white numbers. I didn't put a link because I thought we weren't allowed to on here.

I like expansion watch bands so I can push them up when I wash my hands.

I've had mine >15yrs...just got battery replaced for 2nd time last week for $10. Worked great on night shift as Indiglo feature illuminates watch face, minimally disturbing clients when counting respirations.

I'm a big Seiko 5 fan, but here's an alternative. Sapphire crystal, some degree of water resistance (you might research how the stated numbers are not "real"), and military time scale. Plus it's on sale. Also check out Traser Pulse:

- it's tacticool

- you can wear it in the wrist or on your coat like a pro of the medicine

- it has a pulsometre
