Nursing School: Did you GAIN or LOSE weight?

Published

...or did you stay the same?

Please add more if you like :D.

I have a feeling I am going to gain, unless I plan my meals.

I'm hoping that I am too busy to eat. LOL. That might help.

Gained, a lot! I'm finally starting to lose it now though.

Gained 20lbs. I've been out of school for about 7 months now and only started losing the weight a couple of months ago. I credit the weight loss to losing my fear of eating fat after reading Gary Taubes' Good Calorie, Bad Calorie. Eating more fat has significantly cut my binge eating (only three minor episodes during the last couple of months).

I start NS this fall..THIS is one of my biggest concerns right now..i'm so so scared i'll gain a bunch!!

I gained about 15 lbs the first semester and stayed the same through second :( I am a HUGE stress eater (seriously 15 lbs in 3.5 months? How did that happen? lol)

I'm finally starting to get it off though during the summer-- I need to start cracking down though and watching portions when I start again this fall-- I have about 30 lbs I need to kick to the curb to be at a "healthy" weight. I guess I should be out jogging and not here on all nurses.....

I don't remember how much, but I know I gained...I was BUSY as can be, I went *almost* full time and also worked as a CNA 32 hours/week, but I ate crap, since I was needing to find quick things and eat whenever I could. That meant making bad choices like fast food. :( I am also a stress eater, so snacking and studying went hand in hand!

I lost 30 lbs. during nursing school. I had gained the 30 lbs. over the previous year after I quit smoking (yeah!). I lost the weight by making all of my lunches and dinners for the week on Saturday. AND I never brought cash with me to school or clinicals. It was serious torture sometimes seeing all of the wonderful junk everyone was eating! I wanted it sooooo bad! But, I had no money to buy it. This totally worked for me.

I gained 20 pounds during nursing school. Everything I lost from weight watchers and then some. lol. But I weighed myself and the number on the scale was the final number where I could not let myself gain anymore weight. So I went back to weight watchers and since February I've lost 5.0 lbs. Its really hard because I'm sitting in class all day and I'm attracted to the junk food and sometimes I just have to let myself have it. But clinical weeks I lose 1-2 lbs, because I'm not sitting.

After I graduate(38 days) I'm going back to the gym and planning my meals.

I'm starting nursing school this fall, but I suspect I will gain. I've already gained 10 in the last year and a half (after regaining the weight that I lost due to stress...).

Gained. All the sitting around and studying does me no good. So glad it's almost over, being on the move at work all day will turn things around.

I lost 20 lbs. Extreme stress causes me to lose my appetite and have diarrhea. I was working, going to school and stressing over my divorce and the children... oh and that stupid clinical paperwork that is absolutely sadistic. I'm out of school for summer break, but my appetite still hasn't really come back.

This is EXACTLY what I am going to do. I am already 35 pounds overweight, as it is...I cannot afford to gain more.

If I can break even..that would be a GODSEND!!!
