Nursing Products We'd Like To See

Updated:   Published

Our very own allnurses member moojoo had a thread requesting advice on how to deal with nurses who won't listen during shift report.

Seasoned allnurses member Emergent gave moojoo an idea on a method of getting and keeping that nurse's attention.

It's .... A NURSING PRODUCT THAT WE'D LIKE TO SEE:

Any nursing products that you'd like to see?

I would LOVE an air conditioned gown. Working in a gown for hours on end is too hot and sweaty, especially when patients have the heat on.

Air-conditioned masks would be nice, too.?

Make a cartoon for this maybe?

You know, Kitiger, you're really pushing the limit of my patience.*

How about one of those little instruments that the Men In Black flashed in people's faces, SBE, so the people would believe whatever they told them?

Oh! I LIKE that one!

Specializes in ICU.

Some type of homing device for my pen and my stethoscope. Bonus, if it’s on someone else or in their pocket, they get a little shock. ?

How about mini GPS? Davey? The GPS finds the responsible party and alarms.

Our pens are like children to us-we love them all equally and want them to always return home again safely, don't we?

Well, now they will with...

The Obnoxious Screaming Baby Pen!

Automatic PPE as you enter an isolation room. Built into the door frame of an isolation room you walk one way through a film that covers you with a film that is full PPE. You walk out and the film goes away

Force contactless restraints on beds or mobile device for the really combative ones. Sort of like a magnet. The RN can loosen section by section with various degrees of force necessary dependent on the patient and doctor order. It'll feel like that spinning carnival ride that holds you to the wall.

I want the perfect room deodorizer that can eliminate any smell without adding much scent of its own.

Then I want a scanner that can tell you gastric residual instead of the nurse pulling gastric contents with a large syringe and measuring it.
