Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Hello everyone. The time has come, all I have left is the capstone project, I was wondering if any of you can PM suggestions for some good capstone instructors?

I took longer then most to finish, I took 2 week breaks between classes, but I feel as though it saved my sanity to do so.

Thanks in Advance.

Worked all weekend, even through this stupid cold I picked up, and finished my paper. It is edited, proofread, and submitted it to my education department at my work for approval. This morning I submitted it to Turn it In and it returned 2% similarity. I think that I am done. I couldn't imagine going over it again. It's not like I will make any drastic change that would significantly affect my grade. By Wednesday I will have my discussion posts and responses completed and that should be it!

OK so I think I have figured it out. I want to take trends and leadership and management together. Does this sound doable? Idk what the coursework is like for either but its pretty much my only option

That's ok, not very many people on these forums have I've noticed. Anywho, ending week 5 of Intro to Research, actually enjoyed it! Have a good topic and PICOT ready for capstone. Next week is Ethics. How is the coursework? CLC? Heavy or straightforward?

I enjoyed my research class as well. Now that you have a topic do you have the 15 articles needed for the capstone? If not then try to get those together before the capstone is upon you.

I didn't take either of the classes you had talked about instead of Leadership and Vocation. I took that class and it wasn't bad. One week had a long assignment but besides that it wasn't a major problem.

Ethics was fairly easy I thought except for the CLC. It was a 2 part CLC if I remember which is problematic due to working with other classmates. The assignment itself wasn't bad until you add the CLC component. I think that week 2 there was no assignment but it is intended that you should start the CLC assignments then.

I am thinking of just sticking to the leadership and vocation. And no I did not get as far as pulling 15 article together. Should they be articles that only relate directly to my pico? And thanks for the heads up on ethics. I'm more worried about spirituality class than the capstone, that's sad :/

Yes, find 15 articles that would relate to the implementation of a solution to your proposed PICOT problem. At least 8 of these must be research based (qualitative, quantitative). If you have time I would also print these out and know them well. Spend time highlighting information in those articles that you would like to use to prove your point. Have the APA reference entries assembled correctly will also save some time in the end.

Spirituality was awful. Just play the game. If you are religious in nature then draw upon this. If you are not religious then just adopt that persona and get through it.

So if only 8 are research what would the rest be. Just like websites that contain that info whether they be reputable or not? I'll definitely start on this.

This is my Picot:

In preterm or low birth weight neonates in healthcare facilities, is Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) more effective than conventional NICU care regarding physiologic, behavioral and psychosocial outcomes from birth to one year of life?

So for my implementation plan what am I finding a solution for regarding this research question?

I used 15 articles found from the GCU library plus I quoted 2 of our nursing books. Pull information from peer reviewed articles only and make sure at least 8 are researched based. A couple of mine added information from observational studies about my topic plus the article by the IOM on The future of Nursing.
