Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Hey guys I need help don't know what to do here. So I'm pregnant and due July 7th. My last class starts July 25th. Do you guys think I should double up on 2 classes a couple times? I would finish in May if I did this. Or I can take a 60 day break and finish my last class during my maternity leave. The attachment is my class schedule, if you recommend doubling up which out of these should I do together? Mind you I work nights full time and have a 6 year old and 2 year old but still manage to get homework done somehow.

Head to the school on Feb 28-March 3. Classes start April 4.

Just have no clue where I will physically be at that time. LOL Going to have to do some research about books. If they are not online if I can order them ahead of time to have them sent to where-ever we are. :)

I know I doubled up a couple of times. Last week of Research and first week of Ethics. The last 2 weeks of Ethics and 2st two of spirituality.

One could call it motivation. LOL Mr is working overseas. I am not working right now. So perfect time to finish school and go all the way! That and when I am done with Masters, Mr retires and my income will be primary, so important to set us up to be in a good place financially. *Mr is quite a bit older than me.... he is more than ready to retire but isn't so I can complete school*

If it was me I would push the capstone back to complete during maternity leave. Is there a reason to get it done immediately? Some facilities require that their nurses have their BSN before a certain date which would change my response. Also you would not have to take a 60 day break, plan to take a week off between some classes so that you could slow down a little. I really needed a week break between some of my classes to maintain my sanity.

The capstone isn't really hard just time consuming. There is a tremendous amount of writing but pick a topic you like and it isn't nearly as bad.

I had a question for anyone who has completed the capstone. Did you include feedback from the organizational leader you shared your project to inside your project? There was a question about this in the forum and the facilitator of course said "it should happen".

Well I shared it with another peer. My manager was absent at that time.

I am thinking that as well. You can't make this stuff up. It is bad of me to poke fun at my peers but some of this is unbelievable! In all 11 classes before this one I have never seen so much traffic in the question to the instructor forum. Total of 24 questions/topics with nearly 5-7 comments for each question. A couple QTI forum topics have more than 10 responses..... I can't wait to be

Seriously? That's crazy

I can't imagine doing the capstone with a new baby. I'd double up if it was me.

I agree tokmom some people don't understand that school work although online can be simply impossible with a breastfeeding on demand newborn and having a 2 and 6 year old. I just don't know which classes to double up on
