Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

You will be able to access the GCU as an alumni and your ebooks too.

Thanks tokmon... Are you serious? I will have access to the GCU online library as an alumni? Cool!!! I want to research a mentorship program for student nurses to help boost the attrition rate at my local ADN program. Currently it is only around 40% and I would like to see it up to 60% while maintaining the 90-100% NCLEX pass rate. I was personally able to help a couple first year students pass last semester just by coaching them on "how to study pharmacology" material. Access to literature will be handy.

I will check in here to help others get through this ADN to BSN program.

Yeah, you can. I went back in about a year later. Just remember your username and password. I have forgotten mine!

I am thinking of just sticking to the leadership and vocation. And no I did not get as far as pulling 15 article together. Should they be articles that only relate directly to my pico? And thanks for the heads up on ethics. I'm more worried about spirituality class than the capstone, that's sad :/

I did Leadership and vocation..AMP 450...was a cake walk....I had heard HLT 324 was a nightmare...

Well that is it!! I just submitted everything and let me tell you it was kind of stressful. All I could tell myself that I was not going to change anything so might as well do it. I took one last peek at the question forum and had to chuckle at some of the latest questions. One person asked how to put the final paper together and if she needed to rewrite the whole paper. What?? Another question was asking if they could be allowed to have a Turn It In similarity score of 37% because of all the references are creating a abnormally high return. What?? My paper is exactly the some as the provided example and even with all my literature review references my similarity score was 2%. I don't understand.....

It doesn't matter now, I am completely done. I will check in over the next week to see my grade but besides that I have no more need for this program. I would like access to the literature database though..... I need to find where I can tap those resources in the future. Waiting to change my credentials to BSN....

Congrats!!! Probably the same people that did very little in the group projects or just copied/pasted stuff (plagiarism) for DQs...

Received my final grade for the Capstone. I managed to maintain my 4.0 GPA. Doesn't mean much but it does feel somewhat good. Maybe in a couple weeks I will post some reflective comments here but right now I am just happy to have some down time.

Thanks for everyone on these threads (GCU threads) that have helped. There are so many that participated in my success that I am afraid I would miss them if I were to list them. Thank you everyone.

Enjoy the downtime. It feels weird at first.

Congrats!! I am jealous! But...only 3 more classes for me! I have patho next and am oddly excited as it has medical information in it!! :)

I thought I was going to like Patho until I seen the DQ's were the longest EVERí ½í¸Ÿ

Thank you. You will be here in no time at all!! It is hard to see it that way because of feeling overwhelmed but it will happen. I didn't have to take Patho because I got credit for a Patho class I took during my ADN Program. I have heard that the DQ are really long.

They do seem long, but this is the first class that I feel like my nursing assessment skills will be really applied!! :) I think it will be more challenging that writing papers. ...and I may hate it! Haha!!
