Is that aimed at me? And i know your just trying to prove a point, but i would find that disturbing too if a male nurse asked me that question.

And i like how the OP put this up and has not come back to say anything more about it. :uhoh3:

i had a 15 year old in psych (not for an eating disorder) who decided he'd only eat green or orange foods.:uhoh3::eek:

I was making nice by cracking a joke since it is an infinate loop... (It is funny, Get it?) i am sorry my tone was not conveyed there.

My point here is that assuming the worst is a bit short sighted. also, that i should hope that nurses should be able to appreciate that different demographics have different characteristics. I am sure there are teenage males that do rediculous things that land themselves in the hospital which would be funny to share. And yes, teenage females do rediculous things too. i would laugh just as hard at a story about a teenage female doing something silly regardless of the gender of who asked it. Gender lines are what we make them. I dont think is it implicitly wrong for being interested in the opposite sex's funny attributes/ weird habbits.

The OP may be a creep. They may be a troll. or they may be a person that posted a poorly worded question that was immediately called a sexist agist with innapropriate intentions. You formed your oninion and i have formed mine. Peace.

I think the word, "grossest," put a spin on the question that suggests an "ewww" factor, whether you want to think that way or not. Teenage boys and grossness is a combination that a lot of us would prefer to avoid. :)

No doubt teenage boys do stupid things, i'm not disagreeing with that at all. its the "grossest" thing that makes it creepy!!

And why not want to hear about stupid things females do too?? why JUST males?

I was a student nurse doing my senior preceptorship on a peds floor. A 15 yo boy was admitted to the floor after having a major surgery for a broken arm. He was still groggy from anesthesia, I asked him "orientation" questions, like "do you know where you are?" He gave me the hospital address and his room number :lol2: I was just hoping for a reply like "The hospital!". Then he asked for a hamburger because he was starving.

I remember a teenage psych patient who was skinny as a rail even though he ate like a lumberjack. He would order soup, salad, two entrees, two desserts, and eat up every crumb. Then he was put on a med that can increase appetite. Oh my! He started ordering two or three grilled cheese sandwiches and would eat these before chowing down on his regular meal and a half. The staff was happy to okay his choices. That was better than having him complain about being starved. The kid didn't gain but maybe a pound or two over the course of several weeks. Just a growing boy, I guess. :D

Off subject, sorry OP.

Could it be possible that he had a thyroid problem? Only asking because I ate something like that and stayed skinny before I was diagnosed.
